It turns out that the algorithms have become much stricter during my absence. Yesterday, I had to delete a lot of posts on TikTok that, as it turns out, violated community guidelines. For example, a pattern on a shirt referencing a trendy 2014 print with upside-down crosses was deemed a banned symbol. The platform also didn’t approve of the numerous smoking characters, male topless torsos, a bottle of beer in one drawing, and even gestures like flipping the bird. Apparently, all of this marks a user as "problematic" in the eyes of the platform.
I’ve realized that I’ll only be able to post a smaller portion of my work on TikTok. I’m not ready to adjust to the family-friendly content format—it’s just not me. So, I’ll focus on sharing processes and my works here instead.
I never thought of myself as some "edgy rebel artist," so it never occurred to me to filter what I draw. I’m a simple person—if there are no genitals in the image, it’s family-friendly. Clearly, I was wrong. My social awareness skills are definitely in the negatives.
