Garry's and Maiven's Chaser Cam App V0.10 can be downloaded at the bottom of this post. The download includes Garry's App Hub V0.10 and Garry's Customisable Dynacam V1.02Garry's and Maiven's Chaser Cam App is a complete chase camera management tool that replaces every part of the chase-camera workflow.
Everything you'd normally jump out of the game to do (browse cameras, switch between them, tune their settings, save presets, share them online) can now be done from one app, all in-game.
The app's functionality can be split into 5 sections.
Section 1 - Shared App Ecosystem Features
Setup Wizard
When you first open the app, the setup wizard greets you and walks you through the basics: what the Chaser Cam App does, how it fits alongside the App Hub, and the option to launch straight into the tutorial when you're ready.
In-app tutorial
At the end of the setup wizard you either choose to start the tutorial or start using the app without the tutorial. The tutorial runs you through what each feature is and how to use it.
Each step highlights the exact UI element it's describing with a soft glow, and switches to the right tab automatically so you can see the feature in context. You can step forwards and backwards at any point, or close the tutorial early if you'd rather explore on your own.
If you skip it now or close it midway, the tutorial is always available from the Info tab so you can pick it back up later. It also remembers where you left off, so re-running it doesn't mean starting from step one unless you want to.
Status Card
The status card shows vital app information and notifications. The status card has 5 possible states.
1 - Critical errors: these appear when the app detects something it can't recover from on its own. The card turns red and tells you exactly what's wrong so you can fix it.
2 - Update available: these appear on start up of the app when a new version of the app has been published or if any of your mods have a update. The status card shows the version number for the update and will let you click the card to take you to the download for the update.
3 - Community warnings: these appear on start up of the app and are messages shown to everyone for app or mod specific warnings.
4 - Community info: these appear on start up of the app and are non-urgent messages.
5 - Normal: when none of the other states are active, the status card shows the currently loaded preset name and preset type.
The update, warning and info notifications can be disabled at any time in the app hub.
Button Bar
The button bar for the chaser cam app has 8 buttons for general app functions.
The buttons in the row are save, load, open presets folder, browse community presets, reload script, undo, redo and reset to defaults.
Community preset system
The community preset system is the 4th button on the button row, and clicking it opens up the community preset browser, which lets you share and download presets online through the app.
Once it's open you can search by name and filter the list down to your favourites, new releases from the last 7 days, verified creators only, or presets made specifically for the script you're currently using. Sort options include most liked, most downloaded, newest, A-Z, and trending that mixes likes, downloads and recency to surface what's popular right now.
Every preset has a like and dislike vote so the community surfaces the best ones, plus a favourite star so you can shortlist presets without scrolling the full list every session. You can also click any author's name to filter the browser down to just their work.
Uploading a preset is made easy and only requires you to choose what preset to upload and under what name. Adding a description is fully optional.
Marketplace
It also includes other features like the marketplace, which lets you discover and download mods that support the app.
Section 2 - Info Tab features
The Info tab mostly just stores information about the app and further help and resources like the links to my and Maiven's Patreon and Discord links and the video guide for the app if one ever gets created. It also lets you restart the tutorial and setup wizard at any time.
Section 3 - General Tab features
Favourites system
Quick Switch favourites let you star up to 5 cameras that appear as buttons at the top of the General tab so can switch to your favourite cameras without having to constantly scroll the list.
Camera browser
The camera browser lets you switch between all of your installed chaser cameras, and gives a card for each camera, which contains the camera's name, author, description, whether it has a UI script and whether the camera has a update available (only works for cameras that have a marketplace entry).
The camera browser also lets you search, sort and filter through your cameras. Search works across names, authors and tags, sort lets you sort by Name, Author, Recent or Most Used and filters let you narrow the list to script-compatible cameras only, favourites only, or previously used cameras only.
You can also choose to enable a alternative chaser camera for the 2nd chaser cam view, which then opens up another camera browser where you can select your alternative chaser camera.
Distance, Height & Pitch controls
The Distance, Height & Pitch system replaces the need for the built in chaser camera app if the chaser camera you have selected supports it. It lets you create up to 6 camera position presets controlling Distance, Height and Pitch independently for both camera views, meaning you can have 12 possible presets.
In Manual mode you click a preset to apply it and all presets are separate.
In Speed-Linked mode the camera automatically blends between presets based on your current speed, so you can have the cam pull in close when slow and push out at high speeds. It supports both km/h and mph.
Presets can be copied, pasted, renamed and reset individually.
Section 4 - Script Tab Features
The Scripts tab is where you fine-tune camera-specific parameters.
When you select a camera with a SCRIPT badge, its custom controls appear here.
Creators can utilise my built in UI elements to create UI for their chaser cameras or they can create their own elements using the normal imgui system.
Section 5 - Settings Tab Features
The settings tab holds the preset browser, where you can see and modify any of your presets. It also holds some simple customisation for the status card, where you can change its accent colour or disable the animation.
How do I install?
The apps and extension folders from the zip should be installed manually to the Assetto Corsa root folder - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocor
