RLS Career Overhaul v2.6.8 is now available!
This update introduces an all-new Burnout Career, expands phone customization, improves freeroam event reliability, and includes dozens of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes across the career experience.
New Burnout Career
The newest career path has arrived!
Added a new Burnout progression track with level-based reward and XP bonuses.
Added Burnout Freeroam Events complete with scoring, HUD support, leaderboards, and payouts.
Added a brand-new burnout location in West Coast USA with custom barriers, decals, and event triggers.
Phone Improvements
The phone is now much more customizable.
Added a Notifications menu to Settings.
Master notification toggle.
Individual notification controls.
Toggle alerts for Car Meets, Racing Teams, and Freight Contracts independently.
Car Meet Improvements
Car Meets have received a number of usability improvements.
Vehicles purchased at Car Meets are now handled correctly with insurance registration.
Clearer purchase failure messages when you don't have enough money or garage space.
Improved garage space validation.
Better vehicle inventory setup after purchasing.
Fixed reputation persistence and resumed accepted meets correctly after reloading.
Property & Loans
Managing property finances is now clearer.
Mortgage and rental payments now occur every 10 minutes.
Loan repayment interval increased from 5 minutes to 10 minutes.
Purchase screens now combine down payment, taxes, and fees into a single Cash to Close amount.
Financing now requires enough cash to cover the full closing costs before purchasing.
Civil Service Balancing
Bus, Police, and Paramedic careers have been rebalanced.
All Civil Service careers now use the standard +2% payout increase per level progression.
Overall milestone rewards have been reduced for better long-term balance.
Freeroam & Demolition Derby
Several improvements make events much more reliable.
Freeroam races and Demolition Derby events no longer start while vanilla missions or walkabout activities are active.
Improved replay handling to prevent incorrect rewards or event triggers.
Fixed replay state synchronization.
Demolition Derby
Registration moved outside the speedway to avoid conflicts.
Arena barriers now only appear while a derby is active.
Dismissing the staging popup prevents it from repeatedly appearing.
Vehicle Maintenance
Maintenance effects have been rebalanced.
Power loss, transmission slip, and misfires now occur only when vehicles are in noticeably worse condition.
Coolant condition no longer reduces engine torque by itself.
Added clearer maintenance status information explaining performance limits.
Tuning Shop Improvements
Prevented completed tuning jobs from finishing after major vehicle changes.
Improved warnings when parts cannot safely be removed.
Better recovery from failed purchases and stuck vehicles.
Added a new Save Cart button when upgrading vehicles.
Insurance
Fixed an issue where newly purchased vehicles could cause insurance problems if damaged during a test drive.
Fixed missing insurance premium deductions in certain situations.
