**Mic update: After sound issues plagued episode 7 of Shine, I went back to the drawing board. The good news is that this latest disaster pointed me directly to the problem: Zoom apparently loves to steal the mic signal. Yes, there are settings to prevent that problem. No, they did not work. Zoom has since been exorcized from my computer and the issue, as far as I've tested, has been solved. The time taken to figure all of that out preempted the episodes of Nirvana in Fire I wanted to get to last week, but at least my computer is now cleansed of The Evil.
