My new kobold! So far. [open WIP, sketch]

"Open WIP?" I call this an "open WIP" because it's not just this image that's a work-in-progress, but the character himself, and part of designing him is that I want to get reactions and opinions from a bunch of people on AND off Patreon, so I can't say that this will be exclusive to here. HOWEVER, once I have his design down and I start working on his model sheet (and any other fun imagery that goes with it as I'm oft to do with my model sheets), WIPs for THAT will follow my standard Patreon WIP rules!

So anyway, I've decided I'm joining the kobold club! I don't just hope to make this one of my OCs, but a character on an equal level with Valeford and Baxter, as in one I can claim to be an actual sona! Why? A few reasons.

• I tend to put characters on a spectrum of being their OWN characters or being ME. Part of Valeford's redesign is because I want him to push him more toward being his OWN character rather than a stand-in avatar of ME, the human. Baxter has always been designed to be his own creature, but he was also my first 3D model and I have been using him as my VR Chat avatar for years now, and I've come to realize that I don't want people hear my voice and expect my personality every time they see Baxter. Baxter is a part of me, but he's still supposed to be Baxter, not exclusively the dummy writing this right now. When I think of a character that accurately represents ME whom I'm comfortable having more elements of ME, the species that jumps out the most is kobold. Not saying he can't have his own lore! But I'll afford it a lot more wiggle room.• I want another reptile to be. I started off with a reptile sona waaaaay back before Valeford, but I grew out of him and shed my skin, to use an appropriate metaphor. But my love of reptiles has only grown, so the amount of fondness for, and connection I have for them makes it a travesty that I've been without one for so long!• I'm short, loud, and obnoxious IRL.

Tell me what you think of this look so far, either generally or any little detail! I'm very interested to know! (He'll be about 3 feet tall, if that matters.)
