[Download] Bindr 0.20.4 Prologue | Hell finally froze over

Holy shit, I didn't think I'd ever get this far. Genuinely scary ride. Consider this a test run for issues preceding the full release in two and three weeks. I am hoping for two.

Technically, this isn't the full prologue. There's a whole bit when you finish Bindr where you "learn" how to use it, but that would require everything being translated to the new systems, hence the cut off point so it's not just the new "learning girl" in there.

Please allow the Void Cat to explain a bit what's going on if you didn't read the previous post. Everyone and everything from previous versions is coming back bigger and better + new content allowed by new systems.

Known issues

The game is surprisingly stable for how complex and out of pocket the phone mechanics are, but there are some issues, mainly because I ran out of time because someone decided to report the page and get it suspended. More on this below.

Secret gallery had a bug so I had to shut it off temporarily. This will arrive in 0.20.5 Prologue patch in a day or two, three tops. I slept for 4 hours in the past 48.

The Pro Domme encounter is linked with the secret gallery bug, this one hurts my soul the most. Natalie will have to wait a a day or two.

Due to a revamp of the save system to support save profiles, you might want to delete previous saves in %AppData%/Renpy (Windows) or ~/Library/Renpy, in the Bindr folder. In the current model, persistent file encodes a lot of the data that the regular save system doesn't allow. Including the encoding of the save screenshot.

When you click the To Desktop button inside the Photos app on the phone, it will actually prefer to save to Documents/BindrSmartphonePhotos. This is mostly to avoid any kind of write issues across platforms.

The cursor on macOS is a little fat. It's a custom cursor, and a test at that. I've known about this bug for three months, but I just had so many systems to develop, I didn't even bother. It's not a dealbreaker.

AI voices are currently suspended, as I'm working on a less cringe method of creating believable intonation. The added benefit is that I can dish out more content this way.

Delay and suspension explained

So, as I was preparing the drafts for the return of Bindr, on April 1st around 8 AM PDT, Patreon suspended the page as someone supposedly flagged it out of frustration with me. Posts that were reported were private facing, from 2023.

I was concerned that the project might get nuked, but it was a fate that I kind of accepted. I mean, on the eve of the return after months of work, if the gods deemed that Bindr should die, so be it.

I can't even be mad at the person who did it because I totally get it. Regardless of my severe health problems, I've been away for so long. But nobody cares or should care about that. A contract is a contract is a contract. And hopefully this is the first step towards making it up to you. And to me.

I've been given an opportunity to check the page for any kind of content that could be bad optics and against the community guidelines, so I deleted a lot of stuff out an abundance of caution (as it's irrelevant, the game is still the game).

We passed the inspection. But had there been a single thing that was unacceptable to the powers that be, Bindr would've been history as of yesterday.

So I'll take that as a good omen.
