DESCRIPTION

Happy Belated Fourth! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

Today's release comes in two versions. There is the donut hole version and the standard version. My inspiration for this sculpt was those cute little cat butt magnets. I do plan to make the figures into magnets as well, but I need to order some more magnets so I can size them out. I'll order those this week.

I made these bookends a little on the bigger size because it's a lot of books in this series to hold up. I printed them in black and used a rub and buff wax on them to give the brick definition. The color I used is Pewter. I really love how they came out. Of course, I think they would look awesome printed in a gradient rock color as well. But I'm a huge fan of how the rub and buff looks and it gave me the effect I was looking for on these.

The back of the bookends are rounded and have some detail as well. I really just wanted them to look like a busted ass dungeon cave and I'm trying like hell to get away from the standard box look. Head and Tail pieces print separate. Just glue them in with super glue.

The donut prints separate. Just glue it into place. X marks the spot. lol

Printer Settings

Standard .20 Layer Height.

Tested at 5% infill , print at 10 for heavier feel

Purging I have set at 1. You'll notice her crown has a bit of bleed in the test print. Bambu has been resetting all my projects to .5 recently and I didn't catch it before I sent it off. I fixed the setting and saved it so it should be good now.

Slim Tree Supports. Build Plate Only.

( For the cat, build plate only doesn't reached all the way up under the tail so there is a bit of squiggles to cut a way. You can turn build plate only off if you want, the supports are just a little harder to get out that way. Totally up to you and your preference. I tested both ways and it doesn't seem to make much difference because you don't see that part of the tail anyway. )

Donut - I have painted supports on the inside of the donut for the icing. It pops right off. It's not really needed, but it takes away having to clean up the hole. My supports stuck right to the build plate so it was easy peasy.

Colors Used... Polymaker Matte Black, Polymaker Magenta, CC3d Silk Gold, Polymaker Earth Brown. For the Donut, Polymaker Sakura pink, peanut and cotton white.

Pretty easy print. I hope you all love it. I worked so hard on these and I think they are adorable. I cannot wait to take these sets to SuperCon this week. We were asked so many times at Momocon if we had any Merch for this series, so I'm excited to display these on the table.

I have a few smaller fun themed items I'll be making to bring along to the events this month, so I'll release them as I get them finished.

My Creative Process

I design all of my models from scratch. I mostly use Nomad Sculpt and occasionally Tinkercad for simple things. I do not use Generative AI in any of my design process. Check out my socials and other posts on here for sculpt and process videos. 😊
