I'm kind of sad that it seems like we lost Rebekah. I felt like she's so part of the core 3. She was mandatory in this show. Of course I'm not sure if she'll be returning at some point, but it feels like they really took her out. And usually we can reaaallllly feel when someone is going to return. She was a fun representation for the girls/ sisters and bringing that to the dynamic. Have to be happy that at least she's found some freedom after 1,000 years.

All in all, just had to get that off my chest! I truly love this show and can't wait to see who else we meet along the way.

TVD Season 5

We're only two episodes away from the Season 5 finale of The Vampire Diaries, and I can't help but feel underwhelmed. It's the first time I've felt this way about the show.

What's funny is that I actually think they had some great ideas this season, but a lot of the storylines never truly paid off, at least not yet. I'm assuming they'll wrap some things up in the final two episodes.

Season 5 feels like it lacks focus. Looking back, it's kind of crazy that we've already gone through Wes and Augustine, Katherine taking over Elena's body, Silas, and Bonnie becoming the Anchor and that's just naming a few major storylines. Any one of those plots could have lasted much longer.

The Silas storyline, in particular, was criminally short. Why did we speed through what was arguably one of the biggest reveals in the entire series? Silas's appearance was easily one of my favorite moments in TVD, and I'm sure you guys could tell from my reaction.

Realizing how quickly the show jumped from one plotline to the next makes me wonder what Season 5 could have been if some of these ideas had been given more room to breathe.

Another storyline I wish had been handled better was Damon and Enzo's backstory. We got the basic idea through the flashbacks, but if the show wants to sell Enzo as "Damon's best friend" after that title belonged to Alaric for so long, we needed to actually see that relationship develop on screen. Heading into the finale, Enzo is on this massive revenge mission, and it still feels a little unearned.

The Katherine-in-Elena storyline is another one that had a ton of potential. I've always seen a strong parallel between Katherine and Klaus. Both characters sought redemption at different points but often fell back into their old ways. Katherine and Nadia's relationship never really landed for me. Nadia spent her entire life searching for her mother, but it felt like Katherine cared more about Stefan until Nadia was literally dying.

The ingredients for a great story were there. If the writers had spent more time exploring how Katherine's family was taken from her at such a young age and how, deep down, she always wanted that connection and sense of family, I think those emotional moments would have hit much harder. Instead, they leaned heavily into the Katherine-Stefan romance angle, and it didn't leave much room for meaningful character growth.

Overall, I think Season 5 had some of the best story ideas in the series, but the execution was all over the place. I still love the show, and I'm excited for the finale and to move on to Season 6.

What are your thoughts on Season 5? Am I buggin'?

And ohh dont get me started on the travelers!

What the heck did they do with Season 5 TVD?! Can't wait to see where they're going with this finale!

Tay's pick: Michał Masłowski

You know why Stefan is like this? Because there is only one true love for him and only one person that he cant live without. And that person is Damon

Wellz pick: Andrew Walford

Congrats, Wellz‼️ On 5x17 (42:01), you accurately guessed that the travelers were doing the mass sacrifice to overwhelm Bonnie

Thank y'all for reading with us. Peace!
