Our main character is a new small business owner, just having moved to the city and setting up his place. He gets an invitation to a Halloween mixer to do networking that’s thrown by one of the bigwigs in the city. Hoping to make a splash onto the scene, our lead is excited to visit and goes all out on his costume, dressing up as a female sexy witch to try to make an impression.
At the party, things go well and his costume gets a lot of people to come over to him and start up conversations. They have a good laugh at his costume and agree it’s good advertising. The night goes well and he makes a lot of connections, sure to help his new business. At the end of a party, a stern woman comes up and calls him to another room. There, she gives our main character legal papers saying he’s being sued for misrepresentation and fraud. Floored, our lead checks them over and sees that the papers allege that one of the deals he made that night was on the understanding that the business was helping a female owner and after his reveal that he was actually a guy in a costume, the dealmaker feels deceived and that this will hurt their public standing. Our lead protests and says this is all ridiculous and none of this would stand up in court. The stern woman finally smiles and reveals that she works for the business magnate that threw the party and they don’t like seeing the event’s good name besmirched. If our lead fights this, her company will throw its money and weight behind the one suing and they will bury him under paperwork and crush his business, so even if he wins the lawsuit, he’ll be broke from legal expenses. If the main character agrees to settle, her company will make things right with the accuser and the suit will disappear with nobody ever finding out about what happened. Our lead has no choice but to agree and is told to come with her to report to the manor right away.
At the manor, our lead is given a room and told that he will spend time here living as the person he was posing as at the party. Her company will cover all expenses and provide food, new clothing, and shelter at the manor so it will be a nice experience and if he plays the role well, he will receive an extra reward of help from the company for his business. Angrily relenting, our main character is presented with several outfits, all padded out the same as his costume was.
Spending his days dressed as a businesswoman and his nights in simple gowns and dresses, our lead is watched over like a hawk by the lawyer. She keeps him to a strict regime, never letting him out of costume.
