The city is being ravaged by the “gentleman thief”. Daring robberies, exciting heists, and nefarious schemes, all while wooing the ladies at each crime scene. Figuring that this thief would spot any female cop on the force, it’s decided that one of the male officers must go undercover to trap the ne’er-do-well.
Smitten by this pretty lady at his latest robbery, the thief fails to notice that he’s heisting a mob bank and has stolen the goods of a rather nefarious and dangerous crime lord. Fearing for his safety, the gentleman thief takes his “hostage” to the police and offers to reveal his secret stashes in exchange for protection for himself and his new lady friend. The detectives decide that it’s best to keep the cop undercover and send him along with the thief to find out more info. Maybe he can get the thief to spill more secrets or get evidence to bring down the crime lord too.
The cop and thief are sent to a secluded town in the mountains and hide there posing as a couple. The thief has to battle his instincts and lay low in the town without robbing them all blind since there’s nothing else fun to do in town. The cop has to battle small town expectations for this attractive new couple living together but unmarried (gasp!). Getting fidgety with boredom, the thief starts getting in touch with old contacts, allowing the cop to report back just enough information that the force decides it’s best to keep this operation going for as long as possible. Can the thief settle down... Is the crime lord moving in to wage war on the town to get his loot back... Does the thief really know his gal’s secret identity and is having fun stringing the force along...
