In a darkened temple, a hooded figure with a horned crown finishes drawing his sigils. He is clearly up to some no-good occult business. Performing the incantation, the sigils glow and light from no discernible source fills the room. Multiple overlapping voices from the beyond reach out and demand to know why their slumber has been disturbed. The robed man explains that he wants to become a necromancer so he can use the occult powers to summon minions to do his bidding, smite his enemies, and spread word of the spirits.
The spirits go silent and seem to contemplate the figure’s wishes before their presence can be felt in the temple once more. They agree to grant the figure power, and he becomes quite pleased by this. The sigils peel themselves off the floor and reality, wrapping around the figure and lifting him in the air in a blinding flash. With the enchantment complete, the figure is lowered back to the ground.
Not to be rude, but the figure questions why he is not filled with the overwhelming power to crush all that oppose him, but he quickly silenced as he feels a swelling force its way out from within, pushing and surging until his robe strains against the hefty globes on his chest. The figure gasps and backpedals but is stopped when his back goes rigged, his hips snap back, and his backside balloons out in the same manner. Gasping, the figure barely steadies himself and then pleads with the spirits for an explanation, confused by the sultry voice coming out of his mouth.
The spirits explain that the figure was not powerful enough for the dark arts of necromancy so he has been gifted with the introductory powers of necromomcy and he is a Sum-mom-ner. If he returns to the temple tomorrow, he will be ready for his first minion. The temple suddenly goes quiet and all light is extinguished in the room.
