I think this one works as a playable game or thrusting the Mercs into a world like the one with the Market Girls, where society has decided on a bizarre transformation-based event and the public has highly accepted it and collectively agreed to ignore its strange premise.
Combining the world’s love of drag, pretty ladies, and racing, the hottest global sport is the Race Queens.
Each team buffs up one of their racers, decking them out in the best gear, fashion, and glam, it’s a no holds barred Speed Racer style battle through the course and only one Queen can come out on top.
For safety’s sake to protect against falls and injuries, big hair is a requirement and racers are heavily made up in their team colors. Each racer is given their own luchadore style mask. Disgraced racers are unmasked in front of the crowd and many racers bet half masks on big events, forced to be subservient to the reigning Queen lest they lose the rest of their mask.
Each race has a minimum and maximum CC rating for the racer’s curves, with the biggest CCs saved for the international leagues.
If we’re doing a game, your top CCs represent your attack rating and your bottom CCs are your defense.
Heels: Normal for basic stats, stilettos for high speed but low traction, chunky platforms for low speed high traction
As you progress to the higher leagues, racers start to choose gimmicks and special equipment. Who knows when a racer might have springs in her boots, grappling hook bracelets, or even shock cannons in her bouffant!?
Whether story or game, our tale would probably follow a plucky new team rising up the ranks as their racer strives to be the latest Queen. His scientist tells him he’s adding too many CCs too quickly, but that’s the only way to the big leagues!
