What is the game:
I like tower defense games and I think the survivor genre has been a good plus-up to them. In fact! Around 2013, I pitched a game that was basically the survivor genre to my company and it got roundly ignored. A decade before Vampire Survivors came out, that company could have been there on the ground floor and they totally scoffed at me and I'm definitely not still bitter about that in 2026!
Objective:
Defend your HQ as long as you can. More enemies will spawn in over time, then minibosses, and finally the stage boss. Beat the boss to complete the stage.
If the HQ or player hero are destroyed, you lose.
You earn XP from defeating enemies, minibosses, and bosses. Cash this in to upgrade your hero, the HQ, or build more towers. XP upgrades are reset at the end of a run.
All enemies drop currency when defeated and you'll automatically collect it. Normal enemies drop cash, minibosses drop souls, and bosses drop shards.
Use those currencies to purchase permanent upgrades between stages.
Controls:
It's all mouse controlled
The player hero follows your mouse
The HQ defenses activate when the hero is touching the HQ
Click on the upgrades to the left to buy them during a stage
To place a tower, click the button to buy one on the left. This creates a little target on your mouse, and then you just click in the stage to place the tower on that spot. You can't place a tower directly on top of the HQ (the tower will slide off to the side)
Saving:
It saves when you return to the stage select menu
It also automatically saves your currency once a minute during gameplay. Your progress within the stage isn't saved, but if you get stuck/the game crashes/you want to quit mid-match, you'll at least have most of your upgrade currencies.
I'm not really sure what the theme for the art should be, so consider everything placeholder. I had a few ideas and the one I'm leaning towards is that the "HQ" is a singer on a world tour and the hero unit you play as is her bouncer/security.
There are currently 5 stages.
