DESCRIPTION

I’d written up some ideas for a follow-up to the events of our game “Visual Novels Destroyed Society” titled: The Job Market Destroyed Society.

The sequel would pick up from the succubus ending of VNDS.

The succubi share the beach town with humans and the smattering of aliens mostly transformed by the succubi, who are starting to explore their new forms since they’re now free from the aliens’ repressed society.

Our lead, a male human, is out of work and about to lose his apartment when he sees a notice to be an ambassador for the demons. He has no other options and signs up for it. There are vague hints of meeting with the shadowy form of a succubus ruler still trapped in her dimension. Our lead gets the job but everything becomes fuzzy and fades out as you’re talking with her.

He wakes up changed the next morning, what’s left of his clothing is a burned clump on the floor, and his credit card was maxed out buying nothing but clothing befitting the Succubus Ambassador.

The Ruler reaches out and demands to know how her ambassador is doing on spreading the good word of demons and we are introduced to the Ambassador/Will stat. If you fight back against her too much or don’t send reports to the Ruler, her suspicion that you’re not doing your job rises. If she gets too suspicious at milestones, she transforms you further and you lose more control.

You’re also faced with a money stat and rent payment debt each chapter, taking on a bigger role than the one-off event from VNDS.

This game has more of a time management focus. One chapter is pure novel, the next is time management. Fewer minigames than VNDS.

During time management sections, you’re granted X energy and you have options how to spend it. Once you’re out of energy, the chapter concludes based on your stats.

Jobs- Earn money to pay off Debt, buy items, buy back a male wardrobe to regain some of your will, pay rent, etc. One of the jobs is to transform willing people, so the succubus invasion isn’t all bad!

Actions that generate reports to the Ruler- going to clubs, seducing rich people, dressing up at a game/comic convention, etc. Depending on the job, you generate a report for that chapter and your succubus ambassador stat goes up an amount. You can only do one report per chapter and you can only do each activity once over the full game. You can’t finish a chapter without filing a report and you can only take on easy reports once and if your will is strong enough. As your stats get too high, some of the easy options drop out and you’re stuck doing the more succubial options.

If you can’t pay your rent by the end of the time section, you automatically take photos and sell them online, taking a big hit to your will stat and dropping deeper into the ambassador role and succubus control.

As your succubus ambassador stat rises, it starts to affect the story chapters. The “human” choices start to move around the screen or get smaller (the higher your stat, the faster they move or the smaller they get). If the stat is high enough, some options are invisible.

Esme should make a cameo in the game. She abandoned the game crew and now runs an Italian Ice stand. You can probably return to her from time to time for Jobs/help/finding out more about the Succubus that has enslaved you.

We introduce some plot points in the midgame- required registration for succubi to get licensed. Until they do, they’re forced to wear chokers that have a stone that changes color if they’re using their powers. Due to the peace treaty with the aliens and humans, succubi can no longer possess and transform people against their will. You meet Cove again (and Flynn) at a rally against their treatment and trying to get their rights back. Or at least more rights for the transformed humans, who can’t possess/transform other people. This becomes a major decision point in story- go along with the current rules as a way to gain control/weaken the ruler’s influence or fight it as a civil rights issue for humans and succubi alike!

Good ending- You find a way to get fired from the ambassador role without going broke or angering the Ruler. She gets shoved back to her realm, you turn back to normal, and the succubi celebrate their independence (probably by doing bad things).

Medium ending- You lose your job, but you’re broke. Stay transformed but reasonably so, but that’s your route back to financial solvency. Or maybe you join a clan of bank heisting succubi.

“Bad” ending- You completely give in to the Ruler and become her vessel on Earth. You’re still you and have your mind, but she acts through you. Likely involves a very large and very menacing gown befitting your role.

As part of the end game, we include a setup that would lead to a mummy invasion in episode 3. “Curse of the Sands”, but it affects your cheesy beach instead of the desert. The joke being that mummies just naturally show up wherever sand is involved.
