After finishing the interview for his bimbo roommate, our lead is horrified to hear that the company planned an in-person follow-up right away. She isn't surprised to hear there's a visit part of it, but totally thought she'd have a few days to prepare. She has to get this job so they both know what that means! With time ticking down, she applies more make-up, adds some more volume to the wig, gives him a bubblegum pink jacket and skirt over the silk blouse he already has, and bestows upon him her lucky heels. They hear a car beep outside and she stops him at the door, pulling out a vial from her purse and painting on a final fresh layer of lipstick. The company actually makes this stuff! When they see him and those neon glossy lips, they’ll know she’s a true believer.
The car drops him off at the company and he’s welcomed by the HR woman he just talked to. She’s so thankful that he could come by on short notice, but he manages to spin it into a tale of how much he loves the company. The interviewers spend the first hour smiling and asking questions he can breeze through, but he spends his time fidgeting in the chair. The outfit is tight and clingy, he has to keep shaking back the wig, and the lipstick is so thick he can’t help himself from puckering up to try to spread it around to thin it out or something. How does she wear this junk! With the first hour done, they call for a short break before the final section of the interview. He hears one of the managers mention he’s heading to the restroom, so he takes the opportunity to do the same and find a way to blot off some of the irritating lipstick. Turning the corner, he slips into the restrooms and rushes to the sink to grab a paper towel and try to remove the make-up without smudging it all over. As he looks in the mirror and sees the reflection of himself and the urinal up against the wall, it dawns on him that he reflexively entered the men’s room. He pivots to dash away but sees that the manager has already left the stall and is washing his hands when he sees “her”. The manager dries his hands and gives a swarthy “hello”. Our lead apologizes for the intrusion and tries to sneak passed, but the manager blocks the path and takes our lead’s hand. Pulling themselves closer, the team lead brushes a strand of the wig’s hair back and says he quite noticed how she’s been squirming in her seat, sticking her chest out, and pursing her lovely lips. Our lead protests but the manager laughs it off. Sure subtlety wasn’t the name of her game in the interview, but following him back here, that’s the kind of dedication and willingness to do anything it takes that the company really appreciates. The manager says he wishes the position was in his department because the job would be all hers. He gives our lead one last look up and down and the manager says he’s rooting for her. Our lead stands stunned in the bathroom for a moment, then bolts away before anybody else walks in.
The remainder of the interview is mercifully short. Despite just hearing how it made him come across, he can’t stop fidgeting in the outfit and feels ready to burst by the time the process wraps up and he’s escorted to a waiting car by the HR contact. They wish each other well and he’s thankful to be done. He continues to squirm, fearing if he starts taking off the outfit in the car home, the driver would relay his secret identity back to the company and cost his roommate the job. He struggles to keep the suit jacket buttoned as the driver glances back at him but the stupid thing won’t stay closed. He’s practically ready to explode when the car stops at the apartment building and he can race up the stairs to freedom.
