Reverse Fair Lady 2
DESCRIPTION

Reginald fidgets in his disguise through the work day. Constantly glancing at the clock, wondering when the client will show, he’s left with nothing but time to focus on his discomfort in the “Natasha” costume. The outfit is too uncomfortable to sit at the desk all day, so he starts to pace, but then grumbles at the discomfort and impracticality of the heels he was given, completely unnecessary for the disguise since he just needs to be at a desk! He goes to leave but his hand stays frozen on the knob to the office door. The thought of prancing around in front of his coworkers in the outfit or being seen by a customer or client... He plops back in the chair heavily on his padded figure, before returning to fidgeting mere moments later.

Unable to concentrate on any real work, Reg has done little more than shuffle papers around all morning, when one of the office ladies knocks on his door and invites him out to lunch. He puts on a show of being so busy that he’s just going to work through lunch. Apologizing over and over, he says good-bye to his coworker and she leaves with the rest of the office staff for lunch. With them gone, Reg totters off to the kitchen for a glass of water, the cold doing wonders to soothe his aching lips. He fidgets through lunch and waves to the office gals as they head back to their desks for the remainder of their shifts.

At 3 o’clock, the bank doors open and a hush spreads through the lobby. Reginald can make out three figures confidently striding through the bank as the crowds part to give them room. The trio stop just outside his office and Reg’s frustrations and discomfort waiting melt away to panic. After an agonizing minute, the figures turn to his door and open it. In walks a tall, lithe woman. She has icy pale skin but long straight black hair. Glancing over her dark glasses for just a moment, Reg can see her piercing blue eyes stare him down. The woman nods to the brutes flanking her. One steps back out of the office, closes the door, and stands sentry outside. The other pulls out a chair for the woman and then stands, taking up the corner of the room. The woman extends a gloved hand, her stone demeanor shattering as she praises Natasha for the work she’s done on the accounts. Reg smiles and thanks the woman, apologizing again for the hassle and how sorry the bank is. The woman tuts as she sits down, pretty women should never apologize. The problems are probably with the useless men sitting at the head of the company. Reg feels the need to defend his real self, but when the client asks to meet this Reginald, Reg has to play it up that he’s out of the office for a meeting today. The woman tuts again and says this proves her point and Natasha is doing the real work while the useless man is off playing golf.

The woman seems to have taken a shine to Natasha, quickly giving up on discussions of the bank business and turning to praising Natasha and that a woman of her class should not be trapped behind a desk. Prodding her thugs to praise Natasha, the one in the room grunts out his approval for the panicking bank employee. The woman slams her hand down on the desk as Reginald cowers back. Natasha must quit this office life and come work at the woman’s club! Reg repeatedly declines the opportunity and the woman presses, becoming huffy and demanding to know why. She finally relents and tells Natasha that she has a place at the club any time she wishes. Reg thanks her and presses himself as tight against the chair as he can manage.

Suddenly, there’s a scuffle in the lobby and the sounds of boots trampling through the bank. The thug at the door races into the small office, placing himself between the door and the woman, and then holding his hand inside his jacket. Reginald bolts to his feet and asks the man to just calm down. Squeezing by with what little room is left in the tiny office, Reg joins the office ladies in the hall to see the bank teeming with police. The man in charge seems to be in a heated conversation with the bank boss, who is trying to get the officers out of the lobby and away from the customers. Soon, the man comes marching down the hall, with the boss struggling to keep up behind him. The cop glares around and announces that the force is here on a tip about irregularities with foreign accounts run by Natasha. The office staff all glance in Reginald’s direction and the officer looms over our lead, demanding to know if he is Natasha. Reg looks around, wanting to decline but then catches the eyes of the woman and her thugs stationed in his office. If he reveals the truth here, the woman and her organization surely won’t be pleased with the deception, and that seems like a rather dangerous outcome. Reginald meekly confirms his identity as Natasha, before the officer grabs his arm and leads him out of the bank and into a waiting car.

As the car pulls away from the bank, Reg is now free to plead his innocence and laughs as he explains this is all a major misunderstanding. If the officers will just free his hands, he can show them his disguise and he can explain all- The officer reaches back and tugs on Reg’s wig. Still glued on tight, Reg yelps and the officer glares back. Lying to the police is only going to make things worse, lady.

At the station, Reg is tossed into a room where a woman waves a file at him. Shutting him down every time he protests or tries to explain himself, Reg cowers before the officer. She holds out papers and shouts at him that there’s no record of Natasha being employed by the bank. She slams down another set of papers and says that given Natasha’s priors and that she doesn’t have a job, she’s looking at being deported right here and now. If the next words out of her mouth aren’t explanations of why she was in the bank with a suspected criminal, the officer has the paperwork to ship her out of the country right here and now. Reg wants to explain the whole day’s events but shrinks back down, panicking over them not believing him again. He blurts out that the woman is his boss, he works at her club. He wanted a job at the bank so he told people he already worked there. The officer puts her papers down and grows quiet. She pauses for a moment, glowering at Reg, before excusing herself. The woman leaves the office room and can be seen talking with two figures in the hall. The officer bows to the figures and they saunter away. The woman returns and says that Reg will spend the night here while she confirms Natasha’s story. Reg tries to get on his feet, but totters on his heels and the woman catches his arm and marches him down the hall.
