Hi folks,
Just a check-in to let you know what's what... Firstly... Just for full disclosure... I have to admit that I took a few days off last week (spent time with the family)... It was only a few days and I didn't really take time off over Christmas / New Year, especially after the crazy few months leading up to episode 25 release, so I promised the missus that I'd log off for a few days. So now, I'm well rested / recharged and with no days off planned for the foreseeable.
So, what have we been up to since my last post? Well... Cell and I have been working on Season 2 (some teasers below) while C3nt has been working on some content for an Elizabeth / Heaven (Wanda and Angel's mothers) epilogue scene and there will be some teasers below for that too.
Season 2:
At this stage, I've had a decent run-through of the original scenes and have started on the process of the script upgrade / re-do for Season 2 and Cell and I have made good progress on the artwork too. It's too early to start putting estimates together, so give me a few more weeks to figure out exactly how long it will take.
Similar to Season 1, this will mean a full art upgrade - ALL artwork will be re-done/improved, with additional new images and animations too. As mentioned previously, I expect Season 2 to be of a similar length to Season 1, so at the moment, that would probably mean it will cover the original episodes 11-18, but that will really depend on how much EXTRA content (extended scenes and new scenes) we add. If for some reason, this comes in shorter than Season 1, then we'll either go past episode 18 OR release it as is (but will reduce the Steam price accordingly). There is lots of work to do between then and now, so I'll obviously keep you updated as we go.
Regarding new/ extended scenes, I don't want to just add stuff for the sake of it, so although there will be new content, I expect there will be a little less new content compared to season 1. This is not to rush things along, it's just that as the original game progressed, the quality improved, meaning the further we get into the re-do, the less we will have to tweak the script (but ALL of the artwork will be redone and extended), although I have definitely spotted some areas already where we need some new or extended content - We have added some extra interactions with Angel, Jenna and Wanda already (separately, not together :) ), so I'm sure I'll get sucked into a lot more as Season 2 progresses (I just can't help myself).
And just to confirm there will never be any content exclusive to Steam only. ALL content will always be available here on Patreon, including Season 2 and all / any epilogues.
Season 2 will be the sole focus for me and Cell over the next month. Then I'll have a clearer feel for how long exactly the whole thing will take and at that stage, I'll probably take a few days away from Season 2 to close off the remaining walkthrough work (for Season 1 AND the original game). Then I'll jump back on Season 2... and after a few more weeks, depending on how long is left for Season 2, I'll make a call on whether we plough ahead and finish it or see if there's scope to squeeze out one of the epilogue scenes, just to make sure we don't go too long without a release of any sort. Season 1 AND episode 25 took a year each, so I do NOT want to go the whole of 2026 without a release, so I do have a plan to not go a full year without a release. For 2026, I want to aim to get some smaller / more frequent updates to patrons, rather than go a full year waiting on a single (albeit huge) release. So that will either mean giving early access to season 2 for Patreons as we develop it OR knocking out some epilogues in between OR doing both. We will figure it out as we go and and I'll obviously take some inputs form you folks as to your preference.
Oh... And sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'll provide an alternate ending for episode 25 (for those of you that did not like the "pregnant-lady-at-the door" part). It will literally just be an alternate for those last few images / dialog / interaction for that part and won't effect any other ending / interaction with any of the other ladies." My "It's up to your own interpretation" response seemed to work for some people, but there are quite a few people that want specific closure, so I'll make sure they get it! :)
Epilogue:
As mentioned above, work has already started on a Heaven / Elizabeth epilogue scene. This will take place after the last time we seen the ladies but before the end of episode 25 (i.e. it will happen at some stage during the period where we flashforwarded to the weddings / end scene in episode 25.)
For future epilogues, I will do a poll to see what the priorities are (i.e. who you want to feature), but we went with Elizabeth / Heaven first because these were C3nt's creations and he has all the relevant assets, so this is a scene that C3nt can get through to free Cell and I up for Season 2.
