"This is what you wanted me to help out with?" Kapo asked, looking at the odd machine in front of her. Scarlet had called her not long ago, wanting to see if she'd be willing to help test a new device. She was worried, but it would be fine. Maybe.
"Yes, I call it the Life Swapper! An in-genius device that can target two or more people and switch around their life styles and personalities." Scarlet explained with an eager smile. "And I've asked you here to test it by switching your and Branson's lives, temporarily of course."
Branson sighed. "Yes, while this is unconventional, I hope you don't mind the contract I asked you to sign." He said, hoping things wouldn't go wrong.
A hope that was quickly dashed as the machine cut on suddenly. "Um, is it supposed to hum ominously like that...?" Kapo asked, very worried about accepting this offer.
"N-no... It's not..." Scarlet admitted.
"Damn it Scarlet! You promised you checked for any problems!" Brandon yelled, as a field of energy expanded from the machine quickly.
The field expanded faster, filling not just the room, but also expanding out past the building.
"Not gonna lie, when you asked for me to meet here, I thought you had some new plan in your games with Scarlet." Martin laughed nervously at Camilla, who laughed along with him.
She calmed down a moment. "Yes, I can see why, we've certainly had some moments, but no. I truly did just want to talk with you about her. Scarlet has been doing well, yes? We haven't have much time to simply spend time together."
The two continued to talk for a while, looking surprised as a strange energy filled the room. They both felt strange, like their bodies were warping and mind changing.
When it passed, the two looked different. "Well, how would you like a place in my company Ms. Cosmos. Scarlet certainly thinks highly of your skills and your degrees in the scientific field do make that apparent." "I won't lie, Mr. Hazzard. Your offer is really great and all, but would Scarlet be okay with me working for her brother? I mean, I know we're dating and all..." Camilla responded, a bit nervous about the whole thing. She wasn't sure Scarlet put him up to this or something.
In a different part of town, Levi found himself in a bit of a pickle. "H-hey there Jenna... Um... Wha-what's with that look in your eye?" He asked, panicked that he was going to be her next target.
"I don't know, Levi. I'm thinking I could use a new bra or something." She smirked, finger lighting up, neither even noticing the quickly spreading field coming towards them.
The field passed over them quickly and the energy began to do it's work. Both feeling their very lives switching.
"Aw, come on Jen Jen. Just one little game?" Levi grinned, tossing a ball of energy in his hand, a manic grin on his face.
Jenna shrunk back. "N-no, it's cool Levi... I.. I have some plans to hang with Camilla later..." She said, quickly turning to run off. "Bye!!" She ran off.
"Ugh! Damn it Kapo! What happened, your machine went crazy, but nothing happened!" Scarlet yelled, not happy that she went ahead with this. Something felt off, but she couldn't ping why.
Kapo, typing away on her screen, as her daughter Brena stood behind her. "Come down Scarlet, I'm not sure why it misfired... I'm looking at the specks now."
"Mom, do you think something actually happened? Should I call Ms. Katie?" Brena asked, worried if Scarlet may get very mad this time.
"No Sweetie, we don't need a Lawyer right now..." Kapo muttered, the readings were off.
