I am refreshed from my time off 2 weeks ago and I have been back at it again. I had a fairly productive week, I think! There was one little bump on Wednesday when I took my first allergy pill of the season and it knocked me out so bad I just family guy death posed for the afternoon, but otherwise, pretty productive!
I mostly worked on placeholders as usual, but I was also inspired on the morning of the allergy pill blackout to rewrite a bunch of Ashe's dialogue. I like it better now 😌 Even though it's probably even more obtuse. I have a much clearer idea of what Ashe is and what their role in the game is, but it will probably never be very clear to the player. The 'why won't you answer my questions' crowd is gonna tar and feather me for this game I think, but I still have a blissful year and a half or so before my execution so I will live my life to the fullest.
So anyway, about the placeholders, I am shockingly not even past the first day [ this game will only have 2 days as opposed to Strade's 3, not counting final ending ], but I did count and I now have over 200 placeholder sprites, so I am reassured that I am making fair progress. The structure of the game is just different 🤷♀️

I'm starting to feel a bit more solid/confident about drawing Lawrence. It's hard to explain, but I feel more often that he looks 'right' once I finish a placeholder.
All the placeholders will be refined when I render them of course. That's one of the major reasons that I sketch them all and put them in the game first, so I will end up waiting months to see them again. Then I can see all the problems with fresh eyes and render them with all the skill I gained from practicing the sketches.
