DESCRIPTION

Hi there!

From now on, I’ll be using this kind of short posts to share updates more often, and I’ll save the longer posts for releases or announcements that really need a more detailed explanation.

After a lot of testing, I came to the conclusion that the uppie mode plays much better on horizontal screens, where there’s more room to place elements.

In BusVoyeur, since the goal is to focus directly with the camera and the player is in first person, a vertical screen works just fine.

But in uppie mode, the original idea is that both the “target” you’re filming and the environment affect the level’s difficulty. On a vertical screen, everything ends up feeling cramped and it becomes hard to properly distribute the elements.

Because of that, I decided to turn uppie mode into a separate game.

I know this decision might feel a bit abrupt, but I don’t want to delay the final release of this game any longer, so this is where I’m making the cut.

I also want to change the art style and use the JanKen POP style, which is simpler to draw and paint since it uses flat colors.

Because of this, Annika will be available in both modes in BusVoyeur.

Development of this new game is already underway, although it doesn’t have an official name yet. I’m also not sure if it’ll be compatible with mobile devices — maybe yes, maybe no — I haven’t fully explored that yet.

I’ll show previews in a more detailed post when the time comes.

As for JanKen POP, it’s also still in development, but I don’t have the minimum amount of content I’d like yet to do a proper release.

Thanks for reading!

See you in the next post!
