> Janken POP! Progress Update and Patreon Reward Changes
Hey everyone!
I wanted to share some progress on Janken POP! and talk about a few changes I've been making during development.
Originally, my plan was to create all the girls for Break Mode before releasing the game. However, as development progressed, I realized that finishing every character and every game mode that way would take a very long time. Because of that, I've decided to change my approach.
First, I'm going to complete all the game mechanics and stages using a single character, polish the gameplay, fix bugs, and make sure everything works properly. Once the core game is solid, I'll continue adding the rest of the girls.
I also took the opportunity to rebuild the menus from scratch. The old ones worked, but they had some weird issues that weren't game-breaking, though they could have caused problems later when adding new content. I'd rather deal with those things now before they become a headache in the future.
> New Main Menu
Although it still contains placeholders, the new main menu is already implemented and will serve as the foundation for the rest of the game's features.
BREAK MODE
This is the classic mode where blocks fall and break each other.
It's already playable and currently includes two variations:
Classic Mode
Rotate Mode
As you complete the required block objectives during each match, the girl will gradually lose pieces of clothing.
CHALLENGE
This is the challenge mode.
Here you'll be able to unlock additional scenes for the girls, which will later be used in Interact Mode.
COLLECTION
In this menu you'll be able to:
View unlocked girls
Zoom in on illustrations
Remove or equip clothing pieces
Check achievements
Review unlocked content
INTERACT
If you unlock scenes and complete the required challenges, you'll be able to interact with the girls here.
I think you already know exactly what I mean.
> Game link:
You can try the game using THIS link. (Note: This is a very early build)Just a heads-up: you’ll need a “Silver” tier or higher subscription to access it.
> Patreon Reward Updates
I've also been reviewing the Patreon rewards and noticed that the Silver and Gold tiers offered benefits that were a bit too similar. Because of that, I've decided to make a small adjustment to the Gold tier.
Game demos will continue to be available publicly on Itch.io and Newgrounds, and development updates will remain free for everyone.

I'm also planning to change the way game releases will be handled. I'll explain the new publishing approach in a future post.
Thanks a ton for sticking around, supporting the project, and being patient while I keep building this game.
