It's been a crazy week at the office. The reactions to Abel have been... a lot. We've decided that from now on, only Patreon members will be able to see the redesigns before they come out, because we realized people did not understand that the designs could still change. After a couple of updates, this is the definitive Abel design. There should not be any more changes!
We're also super pumped about the reaction to the beta. We're glad y'all liked it; we cannot wait for you to try Chapter 15 when it comes out on March 25th. Another spoiler for you: Season 2 will launch with 3 main background illustrations. Abel's will be unlocked by default, but normal players will have to unlock them. Tier 3 will have all of them unlocked, like always, from Day 1.
OK, back to what you people really care about. How does Florian look?

I'm going to start talking about Abel's redesign. I read some comments (that made sense) about how he looked a bit too "jock-ish." I slightly changed the face shape, added a few more mouth expressions, and changed the eyes. I honestly think it was the eyes; after looking at them for too long, I kind of thought they felt soulless, so I pulled out some old Abel designs and tried to make him look like he did back then. Hope you like him now as much as I do!
Okay, back to Florian's redesign...
I think I was the calmest about the reaction to his redesign. I thought the character that "changed" the most was Cain, but after this last week, I was doubting how everyone was going to react to Florian's new design. To make sure Florian fans were cool with it, we asked some of the most Florianist Florianer Florian fans we know. We asked what they would change and what they thought about him.
We applied the changes they mentioned could make the design better, and that's the Florian you'll be seeing today. You'll see how he has two styles (clothing wise). A fan didn't fuck with his clothes, so we changed them. We also think he looks better now in a Victorian, dark academia, toxic boy kinda way.
His hair looks easier to draw now and feels more realistic. His features aren't that soft anymore, so they better resemble his personality. When talking with Unai about his redesign, I jokingly like to erase his irises because it reminds me of a statue (in a hot way, ofc).
I really want to know what you guys think about it!
