I have prided myself on keeping the prices for everything that I can control--self-published books, merch, and Patreon tiers--as low and as accessible as possible. Unfortunately, even I have to bow to larger economic pressures when they get to be too much.
First, the easy one. YouTube credits will now be $5+ (Fae Sorceress) tiers.
When I started the YouTube channel and this Patreon page, I had so few followers that I had to entice them however possible. Hence, the $1 (Witch) credit tier. Buuuuut that's no longer the case, and at this point the credits are getting longer than the video itself (which is an awesome problem to have, by the way; how many creators can say that?) So we have to make some cuts.
Secondly, and much more seriously: the monthly stickers are moving from $5 (Fae Sorceress) to a new $10 (Ghost Hunter) tier.
The reason for this is because of the expenses to make and ship stickers (plus the keychains, plus the pins) is about $3300 a month. With Patreon paying me $6k - $7k, that should be fine, right?
Buuuuuut that money is also taxable. Meaning a third of that $6k - $7kneeds to go to Uncle Sam or I end up in jail. So my takeaway this past month was only $200.
(Don't worry, I have enough in savings to tide me over well after YouTube pays me around June 20th - 25th. And merch sales have been pretty great with Pride. Still, you can see how this is not sustainable.)
If TikTok's monetization was still what it was at the beginning of 2025, this wouldn't be as big of an issue. But since they're now giving me pennies on the dollar, I have to take these necessary and unfortunate steps to protect my paycheck.
All other tiers remain unaffected. It's just the credits and stickers. The Fae Sorceress tier folks will get their June stickers this month (although with how slow USPS has been lately, you might actually get it in July; sorry), and if you're an international Fae Sorceress, then you'll get all the stickers for the months you paid for in January 2027. (Doing them in bulk like that is another cost-saving measure.)
To make up for this, I have decided I will post the rough draft of Heart of Silver on Patreon to the $2+ (Fairy) tiers.
It's gonna be a little funky, because the book is supposed to have multiple flashbacks to the American Civil War, WWII, 1953, and the '70s interspersed throughout the story. But I'm writing it chronologically to help me keep everything straight. Re: what I've written so far is the Civil War and WWII stuff. Which means it'll be posted here in that manner. (So, like, you'll get the prologue--which takes place in the modern day--about twenty chapters in, if that makes sense.)
I do want some more chapters written as a buffer before I start posting. Right now I'm taking a break from HoS to edit Monstrous, so the goal is to start posting chapters here by July. However, I can make no promises.
Thank you for your patience as we figure out this shitstorm of an economy together. Your patronage is the only reason I can continue to do this work full-time, and I do not take that for granted. I will do my best to keep prices as low as possible whenever possible in the future.
