One of these days, I should write a legit American history book titled, "It was about slavery, you fuck-nuts!"
(For those of you outside of the United States, there are a depressingly large amount of people--most of them living in Southern states--who will still, do this day, insist that the American Civil War was about "states' rights," not slavery. Despite literally every Confederate politician at the time saying that it was about slavery, that was the whole reason they were trying to leave the Union.)
