I don't want to call it a trigger warning per se, because Patrick is super chill about queerness even in the 1940s, despite the fact that he is a rural, Midwestern, middle-school drop-out. But it is still the 1940s, so the historical language and attitude is utilized. (Frankly, I'm not nearly as worried about this chapter as I am about the one where Janine reveals the fact that she's trans. I think I have a way for Patrick to realistically say, "It's all cool, you're still a lady as far as I'm concerned" while still being true to the time period. But we'll see.)
