This week's plugin is a bit special, it's a 64-bit beta version of MIDIVU, a plugin that I made about 12-13 years ago. MIDIVU is a plugin that you put on an audio channel in your DAW and it sends out VU-meter data as MIDI. I made it to get some visual feedback from Ableton when playing live with the project Memo Cassette, a contemporary art and electronic music project where all audio comes from a guitar, played by the avantgarde jazz guitarist Hans Nyman and then processed in real-time by me, Hampus Norén and Sol Andersson.

I recently noticed a sudden jump in downloads of the old Windows 32-bit version. And even though nowadays it's completely free, some choose to donate. I also have had a couple of 64-bit update requests for this plugin and that's what this post is all about.
The whopping 12-year-old video shows the 32-bit version. The 64-bit beta build looks and works differently since I had to start from scratch. And, I haven't been able to fully test it since I currently don't own a MIDI device suited for the task. I have sent the MIDI generated by the plugin to a new channel and can see that MIDI is coming through as expected, though. It should work... Let me know if it does!
