Hey everyone! Let me present to you the Ruined Abbey, the first map for the Ancient Ruins theme.
There are many places that were once sacred but have now been forgotten. These sanctuaries were home to devout men and women who left during the Eternal Twilight. The darkness lasted over a century, and the sacred houses they abandoned were left to crumble. When the darkness ended, the ruins were forgotten and overgrown, never to be resettled.
The abbey was once dedicated to Armara, and music sounded in its halls. At all hours, joyful chanting could be heard, resonating within its walls. In its gardens, artists from all over the land came to create paintings, sculptures, and poetry in the name of Armara.
But when Parretoa fell and the world became dark, the chanting stopped and the halls fell silent. Paintings left in the galleries faded, and the gardens were overgrown. After many years of neglect, the nearby dam broke, and the stream reclaimed the abbey grounds.
By the time the darkness receded, the abbey had long since passed from the memories of men. Deep in the forests, it was hidden; once a place to forgive and forget, now a place forgotten.
But after all this time, Armara still lingers within these walls, and she longs for her home to be graced by music and art once again.
