The Kazahana Castle was dead.
The temperature inside the stone walls was well below freezing. Team 7’s camp in the lower wings was completely quiet. Kakashi was on watch. Sasuke and Sakura were asleep.
Deep in the upper corridors, Yukie Fujikaze paced the frost-covered floorboards.
She had her heavy Princess Gale cloak wrapped tight. Her boots crunched loudly on the ice. She couldn’t sleep. The castle was exactly how she remembered it the night her father died.
"You stomp around like a civilian."
Yukie jumped. She spun around.
Kenji stood at the end of the hallway. He wore his standard grey robe. His hands were in his pockets. He looked completely bored.
"Don't sneak up on me," Yukie snapped, her heart hammering.
"I walked normally. You're just deaf," Kenji said. He walked toward her. " Why are you out here, Princess?"
Yukie looked away, staring at the frosted stone floor. "I can't sleep," she whispered. "This place... it gives me the creeps. Everywhere I look, I just keep seeing that night."
Kenji didn't mock her. He closed the distance.
He stepped directly into her personal space. The intense, radiating heat of his broad frame immediately pushed the freezing air away. Yukie instinctively backed up until her shoulders hit the cold stone wall, but Kenji followed, boxing her in.
"Then you need a distraction," Kenji murmured softly. His dark eyes locked onto hers. "Something to shift the mood. And I have just an idea."
Yukie’s breath hitched. She looked up at him, her chest rising and falling rapidly. "How?"
Kenji raised a hand. His warm knuckles lightly brushed against the freezing skin of her cheek. The contrast sent a heavy, uninvited jolt of heat straight down her spine.
"You find your courage behind a camera, don't you?" Kenji asked, his voice a low, hypnotic rumble.
Yukie shivered at his touch, unable to pull away from his gaze. "...Yes."
His smirk softened into a slow, magnetic smile. He leaned in closer, his hot breath brushing against her lips.
"Then let's have a private show," Kenji whispered. "I'll be the director. And you be my heroine."
A deep, furious blush immediately spread across Yukie’s cheeks. Her pulse spiked. The sheer, intoxicating confidence in his voice completely drowned out her fear of the castle. It was a ridiculous, brazen suggestion, but the heavy tension pooling in her stomach betrayed her.
She didn't push him away. She didn't reject the idea.
Kenji’s eyes darkened with approval. He took a half-step back.
"Wait here."
He formed a single hand seal.
Shunshin.
Kenji blurred out of existence, leaving only a swirl of cold air in his wake.
Yukie stood frozen against the wall, her heart racing uncontrollably. Three minutes later, a sharp gust of wind swept down the corridor. Kenji materialized right in front of her.
Resting easily on his broad shoulder was a heavy mechanical recording camera and an iron tripod.
"Stolen from Sandayu's private stash," Kenji noted smoothly. "Come on. I know the perfect set."
They walked in silence until they reached the end of the grand hall.
The heavy double doors of the throne room were cracked open. Inside, the massive chamber was illuminated by the eerie, pale blue glow of giant ice crystals. The roof had caved in, letting moonlight spill directly over the shattered crystal throne.
Yukie hesitated at the threshold.
Kenji walked straight in, setting up the iron tripod in the center of the room. He mounted the camera and adjusted the heavy glass lens.
"Get in here," Kenji ordered softly.
Yukie slowly stepped into the room. The cold air bit at her cheeks, but her blood was running too hot to care.
Kenji stood behind the camera. "Alright. I call the shots. You don't speak unless I tell you to. But if you want to quit, look at the lens and say Cut. And we stop. Got it?"
Yukie nodded rigidly. "What is the script?"
"Simple," Kenji said. "You aren't the little girl who ran away. You are Koyuki Kazahana, and you own this castle. Show me the ruler of this country."
Kenji reached down and pressed the switch. The internal battery ground to life. The red recording light snapped on.
"Take one," Kenji commanded. "Action."
Yukie stepped into the light.
She forced her anxiety down and channeled her professional persona. She walked slowly toward the crystal throne. Her posture was perfectly straight, her chin high. She sat on the edge of the frozen throne, crossing her legs. She stared directly into the red lens with intense, dramatic eye contact. Slowly, deliberately, she reached up and pulled the silk glove off her left hand, dropping it onto the ice.
She struck a commanding, flawless pose.
Kenji watched her from behind the camera. Ten seconds passed.
"Cut," Kenji stated.
Yukie broke her pose, instantly annoyed. "What was wrong with that?"
"It was trash," Kenji said bluntly, stepping out from behind the camera.
"Excuse me?!" Yukie snapped, her face flushing with anger. "That was perfect royal posture!"
"That was a commercial," Kenji sneered. He walked toward the throne. "It's rehearsed. It's safe. I told you to play Koyuki Kazahana, the ruler of this ice. You just gave me a hollow mannequin posing for a poster."
Yukie stood up. "I am acting the part!"
"You're hiding behind the costume," Kenji corrected. He stopped right in front of her. "Take off the cloak."
Yukie froze. "What?"
"You heard me," Kenji ordered, his dark eyes locking onto hers with unyielding dominance. "Drop the cloak. We are going to shoot this again, and this time, you aren't going to fake it."
Yukie’s hands hovered over the golden brooch at her collar. The freezing air of the throne room bit at her exposed skin, but the dark, heavy expectation in Kenji’s eyes pinned her in place.
She undid the clasp. The heavy fur cloak slid off her shoulders, hitting the frosted stone with a dull thud.
She stood in a thin white silk negligee. Goosebumps erupted across her arms immediately. She instinctively moved to cross her arms over her chest, suddenly feeling entirely exposed without her armor.
Kenji stepped out from behind the camera. He crossed the room in three long strides and caught her wrists before she could cover herself.
"Don't hide," Kenji ordered softly, his grip firm and radiating heat. "The lens sees everything. If you cover up, you're just acting again."
He backed her up until the backs of her knees hit the edge of the crystal throne. She sat down hard.
Kenji didn't step away. He stood directly between her knees. From his inventory, he pulled a long crimson silk scarf. He didn't ask. He wrapped the silk around her left wrist and tied it to the jagged armrest of the throne.
It wasn't a tight knot. She could easily slip her hand free. It was purely a test to see if she would accept his control.
"Look at the camera," Kenji commanded.
Yukie turned her head. The red recording light stared back at her like an unblinking eye. Her chest heaved. Her nipples hardened instantly against the thin silk, a potent mix of the freezing temperature and the raw, suffocating tension rolling off the boy standing over her.
Kenji leaned in close. His hot breath brushed against her freezing neck.
"You aren't a runaway anymore, Koyuki," he whispered, tracing a finger down her collarbone. "You're exactly where you belong. On the throne. Bound to me."
He opened his mouth and bit down gently on her neck.
Yukie let out a sharp, ragged gasp. Her back arched off the ice. Her free right hand flew up, grabbing his grey robe with desperate, white-knuckled strength.
She stared directly at the camera lens. She watched her own face flush with a deep, feverish red. The terror of the castle was completely gone, entirely overwritten by the intense, burning arousal pooling in her stomach.
She pulled on his robe, dragging him down to her level.
Kenji captured her lips. The kiss was aggressive and deep. Yukie moaned into his mouth, her tongue meeting his with starving, frantic hunger.
He gripped her waist, hauling her hips flush against his groin. She felt the thick, rigid heat of his arousal pressing right through her thin dress. She bucked against him, completely abandoning her royal posture.
His left hand traced her bare thigh, slowly hiking the silk up. His calloused fingers brushed the soaked, slick edge of her underwear.
Yukie broke the kiss, panting heavily. Her eyes darted back to the red light.
"Look at how perfectly you take direction," Kenji praised, his voice a dark rasp against her ear. "Do you want me to call Cut?"
She shook her head frantically. She craved the friction. She needed him to finish tearing down her walls.
"No," Yukie begged breathlessly, staring right into the lens. "Kenji, please... Action."
BOOM.
The entire castle shuddered violently.
A massive explosion rocked the outer walls. Debris rained from the ceiling. The heavy mechanical camera toppled off its tripod, smashing into the ice. The lens shattered, instantly killing the red recording light.
Kenji snapped his head up. The erotic fog vanished in a millisecond, replaced by cold, calculating adrenaline.
"Explosions," Kenji hissed. He immediately stepped in front of Yukie, shielding her with his broad frame.
Through the shattered roof, silhouettes blotted out the moonlight. Fubuki Kakuyoku led a synchronized, high-speed dive of Elite Snow Guards.
From the lower halls, the sharp screech of clashing steel erupted. Kakashi and Sasuke were already engaged with Doto’s ground forces.
Kenji formed a rapid hand seal. He locked onto the Flying Thunder God tag attached to Kakashi's vest.
Hiraishin.
Nothing happened.
A low, vibrating hum echoed through the floorboards.
A Royal Suppression Field, Kenji realized instantly. Doto rigged the geothermal generators to project a localized chakra-dampening grid. It's blocking spatial jutsu.
"Kenji!" Yukie screamed. She frantically fumbled to untie the crimson scarf from her wrist.
A concentrated blast of ice blew the throne room doors entirely off their hinges. Snow Guards flooded into the chamber, launching a coordinated volley of explosive tags.
Kenji blurred forward to grab Yukie.
But the half-second delay from the failed teleportation was all the enemy needed.
Fubuki swooped down at breakneck speed. She bypassed Kenji entirely, aiming straight for the throne. Her armored gauntlet snatched Yukie roughly by the waist.
"Got the Princess!" Fubuki yelled into her comms, immediately pulling her thrusters into a vertical climb.
Yukie thrashed wildly in the Snow Ninja's grip as she was hauled into the air. She didn't call for Sandayu. She reached down through the swirling snow-smoke.
"Kenji!"
Her voice vanished into the howling blizzard as Fubuki shot out through the roof.
Kenji stood alone in the center of the ruined throne room. The dust settled slowly. A dozen Elite Snow Guards tightened their circle around him, drawing their chakra blades.
A blue holographic screen flickered to life in the freezing air.

Doto's recorded voice boomed from hidden speakers embedded in the stone walls. "Welcome home, Koyuki. It's time to finish what we started."
Kenji didn't look at the guards. He didn't look at the sky where the Princess had just been taken.
He looked down at the shattered camera on the floor.
A dark, suffocating wave of Conqueror's Haki bled from his body. The ice cracked instantly beneath his boots in a spiderweb pattern. The sheer, crushing physical weight of his killing intent paralyzed the Snow Guards where they stood.
"He interrupted my scene," Kenji whispered.
