DESCRIPTION

The camcorder now includes a lot of features: night vision, noise effects, REC indicator, time counter, battery level control, tripod height and horizontal rotation, and vertical tilt for the camcorder itself.

It also includes real-time POV adjustment, resolution switching, and even PostMagic-style motion blur. All settings are saved with the scene, and I’ve confirmed that everything works very well in VR as well.

And the Screen and Screen CS let you adjust night vision, noise, and screen size. On top of that, they can copy the RenderTexture from any other camera or asset that uses one, so you can display the feed even without using the Real Camcorder itself.

Fixes:

Fixed an issue where the camera would not automatically deactivate when loading a scene that had been saved with the Active toggle unchecked.

Fixed a problem where all option categories were visible on the plugin’s main screen.

In the Real Camcorder script, changed string updates from every frame to once per second (a small performance improvement).

There was an issue with the AudioListener. In the previous version, spatial audio would break after saving and reloading a scene. I’ve fixed that part.

The asset was built on an older version that had structural issues, which led to problems when the tripod was controlled via C#. I’ve now fixed that.

Update Notes

This update adds a new Camcorder Render FPS option.

You can now limit how often the camcorder camera updates its RenderTexture:

Every Frame

90 FPS

60 FPS

45 FPS

30 FPS

24 FPS

15 FPS

The default value is Every Frame, so existing scenes should behave the same as before.If you want better performance, try 60 FPS, 45 FPS, or 30 FPS.

I also optimized the update logic for Camcorder Screen and PiP Camcorder Screen.Some unnecessary per-frame source searches and UI updates were reduced, which should help lower the performance cost when displaying additional camcorder screens.

Recommended settings:

60 FPS: Good balance between smoothness and performance

45 FPS / 30 FPS: Recommended for VR or heavy scenes

24 FPS: More cinematic/camcorder-like motion

15 FPS: Maximum performance saving

A drone asset has been added. A sound asset bundle containing the propeller rotation sound is also included.

In addition, I improved the issue where removing the screen CS could cause the screen to turn magenta. For the PIP screen CS, there was also a bug where removing the CS caused that Atom’s UI to appear in front of the VaM browser, and this has been fixed as well.

A new option has also been added to make the PIP screen rotate toward the user’s viewpoint in HUD mode.

Finally, CPU bottlenecks have been reduced slightly through additional optimization.
