Unjust Desserts Part 2: Cakey Delights (Or, The Delights Of Brian)
Cynna planted her feet either side of Brian. The last minute had been a desperate attempt to dodge the flurry of Cynna's attacks. With no time to speak he'd barely managed to avoid being completely segmented. Now laying on the floor, propped up on his elbow, unable to evade any longer, the kitchen fell silent, and he looked up.
Brian froze. Standing over him, framed by the warm kitchen light, her cinnamon roll crown catching the glow like a halo. In that stillness, he was struck by her. The confidence in her stance. The focus in her eyes. She looked incredible.
In these last few moments, of stillness, finally, he had time, he could say his name.
“I… I’m—”
But nothing came out. His throat locked up.
Say it. Say it now!
His mind scrambled, tripping over the moment, tangled between awe and panic.
Cynna’s looking right at me, she’s gorgeous. No! Focus! Tell her your name! Tell her you’re not a bad foodie! This is it! Do it now, or she’s going to—
She shifted her weight, the table knife in her hand glinting as she drew it back for the final strike.
“Cynna, I... I’m—”
His voice cracked, breath catching in a useless gasp.
His eyed widened, mouth agape.
Just say it! For the love of—
SHWOOSH!
Was scrolling through some of my passed drawings the other day and the kappa comic came up. This was the very first sketch that I did, and today I decided to give it the full spit and polish. This is the moment, he's resigned himself to the fate of becoming a Kappa at the hands of Naka. Being an Agent sucked, now this? But... It doesn't feel bad and now he's going to get a new best friend in Naka. He'll soon discover that being a kappa is pretty sweet. The cold stone and grime doesn't bother you when your skin and slime is hydrophobic. Your shell is insulating, like a warm hug. Swimming is way better with those webbed hands and feet. No work, no chores, no bullies! And you couldn't have a better friend than Naka, who's never been so happy, now that you're with him.
I originally had decided to colour the green parts red, and then later switched back to green. So today I thought I'd rustle up a variation of Agent Naiv in full red.It can be fun to play around with the colours. Metallic Naiv looks quite convincing. Especially with a few panel seams.
