DESCRIPTION
This dragon was one of two that ended up receiving a sort of mini-reference (sketch headshot and palette bar), in addition to the overall design. For mars I was just thinking 'red, sandstorm, spartan-y (god of war), and boar-like for the design elements. The wings are more weaponized stabbers than anything useful for flying; this guy was made to run and charge around.
The chain-mail addition I remember being an interesting challenge to overcome, but the results ended up really pleasing me. It was a mixture of photo-texture, special brushes and manual additions, followed by a manual over-paint of the elements to completely unify them.
