Hey everyone,
On Last Week's Release:
There was some confusion about v0.5.4 being a "content update" rather than a public catch-up release.
Quick clarification on the development cycle:• Public releases = Free version catching up to Patreon story + technical improvements• New content = Story progression (like the upcoming v0.6.0)
These public releases are important bridges for feedback, stability, and ensuring new players get the best experience.
That said - really appreciated the positive reactions to galleries and reworked animations!
Act Pace:
Now that we have the scene gallery, I was surprised to see just how many scenes are packed into Day 3 Night events. It's truly a bit of a monster.
Makes sense since it's the end of Act 1, but it surprised even me.
If you were surprised too: I do not expect other timezones to be this dense. That level of content concentration will happen more toward the end of each act rather than throughout.
Timeline:
The release + subsequent fixes ate into development time this week.
Major issues are patched (latest build is stable), but still a few minor hiccups that'll get bundled into v0.6.0 / silent-release.
The November stretch goal I mentioned? Unlikely now with the release distraction.
But I don't think the update is far off either. Good progress is being made.
Act 2:
I've been thinking a lot about Act 2 structure and I think I have a good plan in place. If it works, it should be interesting.
Curious to hear your thoughts once it's out.
I'll also be running some polls to help shape certain in-game choices and misc items - looking forward to that input!
On Previews:
Reaching a point where showing too much risks spoiling key moments, so I'll be experimenting with fewer preview CGs while still doing weekly updates (like some other devs do), or showing less interesting CGs.
This Week's Focus:
• CG production push• Script refinements for upcoming scenes (more on that later)
The public release is out of the way. Now it's full focus on new content.
Appreciate everyone's patience and feedback - especially those who took time to report bugs and test features.
Cheers,Tori
