DESCRIPTION

Hey everyone,Had some life commitments this week, but made solid progress on something I'm excited to share.

What's in v0.6.0?

We can't discuss timelines without discussing scope - there's a huge difference between a 5k word, 20 CG update versus a 25k word, 100 CG one, versus a 50k word, 200 CG one.

While I can't reveal exact numbers yet, I can say the goal has evolved beyond simply wrapping Day 3 Night, which is why it is taking a bit longer.

As hinted last week, I've decided to properly launch Act 2 and push the story forward into Day 4.

This makes for a more substantial update - and honestly, a more interesting one.

On Timelines:

I know some of you want concrete dates. I get it.

At this stage, giving a specific date would be premature.I'm working solo, which means I'm constantly jumping between writing, CGs, coding, and planning.

I do have an internal target in mind, and I believe we're not super far out. But I need to hit certain milestones before I can commit to a public date.On Act 2:

Don't want to spoil too much, so just some hints for now.

Act 2's theme: Exploration.

And I mean that in multiple ways... geographic and... wink wink ... well, you'll see.

Which, by the way, that comes with its own technical challenges.

One thing I rarely get to talk about is environment design. While most backgrounds aren't 3D, some do need to be for consistency and flexibility - especially for the more complex environments Act 2 requires. Think: locations where I need consistent multiple camera angles.

So I'm currently deep in that prep work. Among other 'foundation' things Act 2 needs. On community:

The discussions happening in Discord and comments have been fun to read.

Theories about pacing, boundaries, where things are heading - I can't respond to everything (and honestly, some of it I shouldn't respond to because spoilers), but know that I'm reading it all.

The fan art has been amazing too. I try not to get too involved since it feels like that should be a fan-owned space, but it's genuinely cool to see what you create.

The update is growing larger than originally planned, but in a way that feels right. I'm hoping to have more concrete numbers next week.

Appreciate everyone's patience and feedback.

Cheers,Tori
