Hey everyone!
The long-awaited inventory feature is finally here! 🎉This is the first, base version - without the full RPG mechanics yet - but even in its current form it already makes a huge difference in how videos can be experienced.
⭐ What the Inventory Can Do
The inventory now lets you keep track of all kinds of items throughout a video, such as:
Money
Points / score counters
Keys, tokens, tools, collectibles
Presence items (you either have it or you don’t)
Stackable items (numeric values, like money)
The system is very flexible and can define any item the video needs, assign custom names, provide some description and even give them unique item icons.
🧭 How It Works
You’ll notice a small inventory button overlay during video playback.
It hides automatically when your mouse is idle
You can open it anytime to check what you’re carrying
Items appear in a clean panel, showing their current amount or whether you can use them at the moment
Whenever anything changes, a short overlay notification pops up:
⚔️ Item Usage
Most items are gained automatically during the video, and you’ll be prompted when the video wants you to use something (or you MAY be prompted - some item usage can be hidden as well). Some items disappear when used, others stay - it depends entirely on the video’s design.
🧪 Session-Based (For Now)
Inventory progress is currently per session only, once you refresh or leave the page, they are gone. However, once the progress saving system is implemented, items will be persisted across sessions.
🎮 RPG Expansion Coming Later
This base version focuses purely on "items," but in the future it will expand into a full RPG-style inventory, including:
HP, Mana, Stamina or any other stat used in the video
Buffs / Debuffs
Player skills
Dungeon-style mechanics
Because of that, I hid The Dungeon videos from the queue for now. Don’t worry - they’re not gone. It just doesn’t make sense for them to sit there when the advanced features they require aren’t ready yet.
🔜 What’s Next
Next on my list is the progress saving mechanism, but I’ll be working on it alongside reworking older videos so they can take advantage of the new inventory system.
You can tell a video uses the inventory by looking for this icon in the list:
This update will a bit later because many older videos need reworking. So don’t expect another big release this year - probably January/February.
💲 A Note About Price
As the project grows - more features, more syncing, and broader support - I will eventually need to slightly raise the price. Nothing drastic, nothing painful. Just a small adjustment to reflect the increasing value and workload.
And of course… a few minor bug fixes too. 😉
Thanks for your patience and support - this feature was quite a challenging one, and I’m incredibly happy to finally share it with you!
Oh and did I mention that this base version of the inventory is completely free for everyone to try? If it stays free forever... Who knows? But for now, enjoy!
And of course, if you encounter something not working as expected, don't hesitate to report a bug.
