Officer Collin O’Denning - Age: 53, D.O.B May 30th.
Captain O’Denning is the most experienced law enforcement officer actively working for the Hardwood City Police Department after all other senior leadership, besides the then Captain Juggs, were ousted 3 years ago due to their direct involvement in the previous Mayor’s corruption scandal. Being over 14 years her senior, O’Denning was the obvious pick to take on the role of Police Chief between the two remaining Captains. But surprisingly (even to Juggs who until then had always disregarded him as a somewhat-bumbling, donut eating, pencil pusher), Collin proudly vouched for Juggs, & encouraged the new City Council to select her for top job over himself. Arguing her competency & talents far superseded his experience, he fundamentally agreed with Mayor Fresendo’s philosophical need for “fresh blood” to take charge in the wake of the H.C.P.D.’s freshly unveiled corruption. And what better person to take that task on than the woman responsible for exposing it in the first place. This also suited the new Mayor’s bold strategy of redefining political power in Hardwood to center around strong, female fertility.Needless to say, Collin unexpectedly going to bat for her meant a lot to Juggs & certainly changed her opinion of him for the better. Ever since, she has frequently counted upon the expertise & advice of her second in command, even referring to him simply as Collin in private. In fact, aside from Terry, Collin is the only other cop that Chief Juggs feels she can genuinely rely upon at all times. While Juggs feels she can trust Terry to handle any field operations & physical tasks, she has her utmost faith in Collin’s operational & managerial experience.O’Denning, knowing full well how Jasmine prefers to be spending her precious time, takes on the responsibility of overseeing as much of the “boring” police work & “annoying” press conferences as he can. He understands more than anyone that Chief Officer Juggs is still in her prime & the best cop on the force – so the more time she can spend working the major cases, rather than stuck behind a desk, the better off Hardwood City will be.Besides attempting to keep problematic Officer Dominic Ryker on a leash & drilling some sense into him – another task of note for O’Denning is the investigation he’s been personally overseeing, at Juggs’ behest, into the actions of the locally based pharmaceutical giant Fertile Womb Industries. Despite the relationship between the company & almost all of Hardwood’s institutions continuing strong to this day, Jasmine first became concerned about the legality of F.W.I.’s genetic enhancement programs after an incident involving a jailbreak of four enhanced inmates from the Hardwood City Correctional Center around 1 year ago…Being the kind, compassionate & upstanding man that he is, Collin lives a (now somewhat rare for Westerica, particularly Hardwood) traditional family lifestyle. Happily married to his beautiful, doting wife Cheryl(49), the couple lives at their modest home with their college cheerleading daughter Violet(18). As a somewhat bratty, spoiled, daddy’s girl, Violet does end up bossing her poor father around quite a bit, but anyone who knows Collin can tell you just how much this dependable police Captain, with a heart of gold, loves his family.
I know this is probably not even remotely an exciting character reveal for most of you, but for me it's been a long, long time coming. Having crafted this character & his role in the story years ago with Serrated, first name dropping him on Page 3 of the Terminal Juggs comic back in 2020 (I know... forgive me), I'm excited to finally put a face to Captain O'Denning.Of course, I thought he would have long since appeared in Issue 2 of the Terminal Juggs comic by now, but due to a combination of hiatuses, but mostly the insertion/expansion of the ongoing sex scene, he still hasn't shown up. Instead, he looks set to debut in an upcoming Terminal Quickies: A Case of Conception(Lara's story) page, albeit only for a brief panel or 2 for now. But nevertheless, I thought it was high time I created his model & introduced him, as you will be seeing more from Juggs' 2nd in command... eventually.
