Hi Everyone,Happy New Year. This Community Challenge is for everyone, but specifically inviting those of you who haven't tried a Community Challenge yet!
What is a Community Challenge? It's a weekly reminder that creativity is a requirement for musical fluency. It's a chance to practice using what you're learning here. It's an excuse to attempt writing something with the time and resources you have available. I say "attempt" because these challenges are not about perfection, they are just about writing something: the equivalent of a napkin sketch.
This particular challenge is a great starting point because the bar is even lower than usual. The goal for this challenge is: WRITE A CHORD PROGRESSION IN G MAJOR
In this video I walk you through how we get the chords in the Key of G Major, and I show you a simple plug-and-play method of writing a chord progression. From there, all you have to do is tinker, find something you like - or just something at all - and record a voice memo. From there, just upload that voice memo to the Community Forum post for this particular Community Challenge.
