It’s been a while since my last post. If you haven’t read my earlier updates, I was away visiting my family, I live quite far from them, so I don’t get to see them very often throughout the year. I got back this week though, and I already started working on the next part of our bookshop collection.
This part will focus on the reception area of the store, if that’s not really a thing now, it will be. :D I was inspired by the style and atmosphere of the bookshop in the series You, and I wanted to bring that feeling into this set.
The main item is this counter, and I’ll be adding a bunch of clutter that a bookshop would need. I’m also planning to make a cash register. I can’t remember if those are functional in-game or not, so I’ll have to check, but I’d love for it to work in some way if possible.
While I was away, I spent some time thinking about a new publishing schedule for my sets. You may have noticed that the last set was split into two parts, and that gave me the idea to create smaller sets with less time in between releases. The part I’m currently working on will be the first test of this approach: I’m aiming to release it in 2–3 weeks instead of a full month, and then continue with the next parts in the same timeframe.
I think this could bring more activity here, allow you to get more sets within a month, and reduce the long waiting time between releases. I want to give this a try and see how you like it. I’ll still aim to keep the sets cohesive and not too small, because I don’t want it to feel annoying to download lots of tiny packs.
I feel like this would help me stress less toward the finish line and honestly, stress less in general. :D I usually have so many ideas that I want to do all of them. Deciding what items should go into a set is sometimes the hardest part, and when I include a few more complicated pieces, my brain just shuts down. I start overthinking the direction of the set, can’t quite figure out what I want it to be, and that often leads to doubting myself.
I’m hoping that by creating sets with fewer, but more thoughtfully chosen items, I can enjoy the process more and focus on what I’m making instead of questioning every decision.
