The events of Project Metamorph trace their roots back to the early 1900s, when mysterious visitors from beyond the stars first arrived to Earth. Known only as The Dark Ones, these enigmatic beings offered humanity a chance for salvation—an escape from disease, famine, and war through symbiotic union. But rather than accept this offer, the government chose to enslave and experiment on these visitors, subjecting them to cruel treatment. The aftermath of this decision would ripple through time.
Fast forward to the year 2020: a comet, seemingly ordinary but sudden, crashed to Earth. Hidden within its fragments were parasitic, gelatinous creatures—sent in by The Dark Ones and controlled by a powerful sub-leader, The Hivemind, secretly embedded within the comet. These blank template creatures, capable of assimilating the genetic information of any living organism, began to adopt forms based on Earth’s inhabitants—humans, wolves, and other living beings.
The government, quick to react, quarantined the affected areas and seemingly subdued the threat. Yet, this victory was but a facade. Unknown to them, the Hivemind was silently observing and gathering knowledge, waiting for the right moment to strike again.
By 2024, trust in the government had eroded, especially within a secretive faction known as the Ember Militia. Convinced that the research on the parasites was not aimed at finding a cure, but rather turning them into bio-weapons, they launched an assault on Site-01—the heart of the government’s parasite research. Their attack, however, only succeeded in unleashing chaos. The gelatinous creatures broke free, assimilating everyone in their path, as the Hivemind continued to direct the assault from the shadows.
Now, as the facility falls apart and the creatures spread within, our protagonist awakens, unaware of the full scale of what has been unleashed. The threat is no longer contained, and humanity's future rests on a knife’s edge. Will you be able to stop the spread of this ancient and malevolent force? Or will Earth succumb to the dark plans of beings watching from beyond the stars?
