Part 1: Choose-your-own-Seduction Results
Look, you already know who won.
There's a strong cohort of greenskin supporters amongst my patrons, and I can't hate on 'em. Not at all. I respect their fervor, because they dominated this vote. If I ran a poll in the Discord, I have a sneaking suspicion that Khalika would be at the top, or perhaps the thief that started it all.
If you missed it, and didn't see @hellyeah in the Discord clarify, the goblin girl is going to make a return. I've had a clever idea for a while now on how exactly she would show up again, and I see the opportunity for that return rapidly approaching. How soon? Well, you'll find out soon.
At the very least, expect a steamy meeting with Khalika in Chapter 3.5, before discovering your impending fate on the auction block. It could very well be your last opportunity...
Part 2: Chapter 3 Progress
I elaborated last week on how tricky it was for me to fall back into a consistent writing routine, especially after upending myself and relocating across the country. That process is still ongoing and I hope to return to my previous pace, which was rather voracious, when it comes to actively expanding and developing Orphan.
Many supporters and fans of the project have warned me to take my time and avoid burnout, so that's what I've been trying to do, building up inspiration and excitement for the next chapter of Orphan in order to invigorate my work. I like to think that my writing has a certain spirited quality to it, and I don't know how much of that can be manufactured, as opposed to genuinely cultivated through passion.
At the end of the day, I want to tell a compelling story and that's exactly what I plan to do, from start to finish. I think I'm on track to do that, and Chapter 3 is finally shaping up into something that I'm excited to write. I'm confident that ya'll will enjoy reading it, experiencing it, and that it'll open the doors of Orphan to an even greater audience. Fingers crossed.
Part 3: Exalted Text
I have two polls in mind. One reserved for the patrons, directly related to the next chapter of Orphan, which I'm excited to put out soon to let your opinions/voices be heard. The other is indirectly related to Orphan, focused on the Exalted Text brand more broadly.
What is Exalted Text?
Exalted Text is my brainchild; a creative vessel through which I'd like to pursue my interests. As you've already seen, my interests include fiction, more specifically interactive-fiction and CYOA games. Right now, that is limited to Orphan. But it could expand to other games, sequels, series, etc.
Beyond that, Exalted Text also encapsulates erotica... potential novels, short stories, poems... roleplaying games such as Crusader Kings 3 and it's mods... and text-based games, beyond IF, like MUDs or MUSHes.
If you like Orphan, I'm sure you'll love some of the other ideas that I'd like to bring into reality in the not-too-distant-future. So I may put out some polls related to these ideas and Exalted Text as a creative 'brand' endeavor, and I'd love to hear your input on what sorta stuff you'd be interested in seeing.
