I have two reasons for posting today. One is to tell you what Secret Base has been up to and also what's ahead on Patreon, and the other is to ask for some parenting advice– it’s basketball related parenting advice so, it’s relevant. Oh, and this is Clara. Hello!

Non-monsters, please weigh in: Should I take my kids to a high school playoff basketball game next weekend?
Some background: The kids are age 2 and 4, and if you’re unfamiliar with those ages, going somewhere new is either a wonderful experience, the stuff core memories are made of. Or. It is a crying festival that tests the limits of your patience so severely you can feel the rage in your inner ears. It's like a deep pounding/ringing/swirling, parents you know what I'm talking about. So, I would love some opinions on a high school bball outing for toddlers.
As I see there are a lot of pros: Cheap! Close to home! Free parking!
And a few cons: Loud. Will likely dredge up personal high school basketball disappointments, which you’d think I’d be over at this point but I legit still have dreams where I prove my HS coach wrong. So we may be playing with fire a little bit.

Will told us how Lake Placid ended up hosting the Olympics. And he did it in a new straight-to-camera, no-friends-allowed format. I can only assume he did it that way because he's mad at the rest of us (we’ve been putting gum under his desk for several months). Though it’s possible he wanted to try something new which he thought would be compelling. Do you guys think it was compelling or retaliation for the gum? Or both! Seth learned this bit of Atlanta history while researching his big new project. Which brings me to what’s coming to Patreon in March:
The very same Seth has been crafting a deep dive into the history, the how, and the why of the NBA scouting, recruiting, and drafting international players. He and Ryan built a Draft Cavern for the project, and I think Seth might be lost in there because nobody’s heard from him for a bit. Episode one’s coming at the end of the month, hopefully he’ll find his way out by then.
I’ll be releasing more notes, journals, and audio interviews from my season embedded with the Las Vegas Slots, a VERY REAL basketball team I did not invent for a fun fiction project.
