I just went to Seattle for five days, I wore my "friends with Jon Bois" shirt the whole time, and not a single one of you Mariners fans stopped me to say hello. One of you stopped me to say "get out of here" as I slipped down a jetty to greet an otter I'd connected with at distance. I assume that was one of you. You acted like you knew me at least. The curtness hinted at familiarity. This is Will by the way. Maybe I should've included that on the shirt. "Will here; friend of Jon Bois." Please no one tell Jon I used the f word.
Opening paragraph over, I will now get to why you are here: my review of Seattle. Good city. Every city needs Katsu Burger. And sea lions. Good city.
Review over, I will now get to why I am here: information about what we're up to.
The Expedition is complete
Seth, Ryan and Charlotte wrapped up "The Donnie Expedition." Ultimately, it's a five-part, 140 minute mini-series that tells the story of the NBA opening its draft day doors to international players. And now, there's a few ways to watch it...
Option A: it's all available for our Content Enjoyers and Top Secret Agents right here. You're the reason we made it, so thank you for being here and encouraging us to produce special projects like this.
Option B: we've started publishing it to YouTube! Episodes 1 and 2 are now available.
Option C: this is for the sickos. You can (should) watch all of the above and then when you need even more, make sure you caught all of the little side quest episode extensions that came from Seth's research for the project.
How Stan Kasten went from stumbling around Busch Stadium to running an NBA team to buying winning World Series
The nepotism-tinted story of Don Nelson trying to (considering?) fight Karl Malone
Now, if you're saying, "but I've watched all of that ughhhhhhh" then OH GOD I NEED YOUR HELP. For the Donnie Sickos out there in our Top Secret Agent assembly, send us your questions. We're getting together next week to answer anything on your mind about Donnie. And if you don't have a question about Donnie and just want to ask us whatever, hey maybe we'll get to that too. I can't tell the future.
Mound..... Charge? More!
Jon is still cranking these out. The collection has grown and will continue to do so in the coming months, plus some bigger things planned for the future. If you have been patiently waiting for the next YouTube drop, that'll come in July and August. But if you can't wait, or want to rewatch, then we've got everything bundled here.
Now, as for the future, it's very early days with plenty to be sorted, but we're aiming to do another live screening like what we pulled off for Scorigami. If we can make it work, then you'll be the very first to know. Hopefully we can do it even bigger and better.
In other Jon news, just in case you missed his special May delivery, he actually wrote a blog? After countless multi-hour, laborious projects, it's funny to feel like a paltry blog can be as special and unique as it is. What a world.
What else?
Just to rattle off the hits because we've got a few...
In honor of the Men's World Cup starting up, we're getting our soccer on over the next few weeks. Clara and Jiazhen got us started with a little beef. Or, bœuf?
Staying on the Clara x Jiazhen x Beef train, we published the CP3 vs. Jose Alvarado episode just in time for Alvarado to be on the biggest stage. I will say nothing else for the sake of not causing a jinx in either direction for everyone's sake ah fuck I've said too much.
REWINDER RETURNED!!! And another episode will come within the soccer content...
Ryan has mentioned this elsewhere, but the Donnie Expedition was created as part of an effort to have a series that can fit any story. So, within that, Seth and Alex have been working on a special one-off of their own that'll come in July. Finally, a reason to be excited about summer.
As always, even more is available and even more is to come. We like making stuff for y'all. See you soon.
