Hey everybody. Just a heads up. I'm going to be taking a break from Unintended Cultivator for the next two weeks. Some of it is just a sanity break. I can tell I've been pushing hard recently. Every negative comment that I accidentally read makes me want to take a long vacation somewhere without electricity or internet. Not just comments on UC, but negative comments on anything. That's generally a warning sign to me that I'm getting fatigued physically, emotionally, or both. Plus, there's this persistent thought in the back of my head that I should end the series with volume 13 and work on other things for a year or two. This is despite knowing that would make for a lousy ending. The fact that the thought persists tells me that I probably need a creative break from the series. So, I'm thinking it's better for the story if I step back and come at it fresh.
Some of this break is to let me catch up on admin work. I've recently received boxes of paperbacks for volumes 6 and 7 that need to be signed and shipped, for example. It's been a while since I offered signed copies for everyone else to buy. There's also some things I'd like to get done on my website. Did you know I had a website? Of course, you didn't. Nobody does. That's because I never do anything with it, and it's horribly out of date. The most recent entry on there for Unintended Cultivator is Volume 3. Volume 3! That literally came out in 2024. Like 18 months ago. And even for the existing entries, only Volume 1 has an Audible link on there. So, yeah, that needs some love.
This will also free me up to work on Unwillingly Summoned. It's under contract. It's supposed to be done this month (December). It'll be easier to knock that out if I can give it some undivided attention for a week or two. I don't think i can finish it in two weeks. It's about 40% done as of now. But if I can get it over the 75% mark, I can probably coast in that last 25% by the end of the month while picking back up with Unintended Cultivator.
So, the TL:DR version is: I'm taking a break. No new UC chapters for all tiers for the next two weeks. Starting December 15, things will return to their pre-break normal.
