I am sick as hell right now after my recent trip to Japan, so my brain is muddy and discombobulated, but I thought I'd (attempt to) share a bit about the current stage I'm at with the new album, which is ironing out the arrangement of the tracks and how the journey progresses through the album.
It's one of the most important parts of the album creation process for me (as I'm sure you all know). It can be the difference between an album you only listen to various singles from vs an album you listen completely through over and over again, one that lasts a long time, one that pulls you into another world.
All of my favorite albums of all time are that way, they work beautifully as journeys and stand the test of time. It takes forever -- but come on, we're trying to make art that lasts a lifetime here, so it's worth all of the hair pulling frustration that comes with trying to solve this emotional/lyrical/energetic jigsaw puzzle.
I'll do some more comprehensive BTS soon that isn't just me talking to my phone. Let me know what kind of stuff you guys want to see!
*coughs Japanese germs directly into your mouth* Love you guys!
