DESCRIPTION

I was gone in the desert for a few weeks for Burning Man, but I'm back now and will post a few things in a row to make up for my absence <3

~

Out of all of the albums I've created, EXUVIUM took the longest. I did three different song a day periods for it over the course of 3 years (around 45 demos total) in order to finally land on the 10 songs that made it onto the album.

One of those song a day periods ended up being in a pretty different style and none of the demos made it onto the album (except some additional work I did to Dreaming Of Me // In Colors Of White during that same period). They are all pretty experimental and interesting, but most of them just didn't end up fitting into the world I wanted to create.

This was the first demo I made during that song a day, "Kare Wa Saku," which roughly translates to "He Will Bloom." The first verse has a lot of similarities to the second verse of Dreaming Of Me.

Lyrics:

How could this be love, that peels me so purposefully? If you love my voice, why must I sing so quietly?

I thought I was slipping before, but now I am reaching terminal velocity I feel you in every inch of my skin, slipping away, peeling and falling off of my body

-

I'm starving and hoping, Busting wide open, trying to move outFloating, floating, floating on

I'm done being meekerI'll hold to the deepest thing I've found out Breathing there all on my own

And I will hold my hands outstretched in bloomI'm the alpha, omega, and the valley of the shadow Child of the tombs
