DESCRIPTION

This was an interesting one from a recent song a day I did with a group of friends. I wanted to try to write a melody inspired by Hindustani Ragas. It's so interesting to see deeply my melody paradigm is influenced by traditional western and bluegrass music, so firmly in the Ionian world. I think it's important to push yourself out of your standard lanes. Even though I didn't end up using this for anything, it still seeded my mind with ideas for new melody structures, some of which have emerged in the new material I'm working on.

Lyrics:

Sing to me now, the storm is awake Dream a sound and I will run awayLeave you here, paper skin aglow With the wrath of god, we oscillate I told you once I'd be the one who'd burn this downbut now I know the truthIf I tried to leave I'd fall and break through the ground and fall right back up into this moment here with youOh, what have we become?
