Patreon Mini-Newsletter - November 2025

DESCRIPTION

Hello all. For my American patrons, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, and if you're in a place where it's already cold, snowy and miserable like me, I hope you're hanging in there!

I find it somewhat inappropriate to overshare about my personal life in any public forum, so I usually try to keep them separate, but without going into too much detail, I had a rough month mentally. Honestly, 2025 was not very kind to my mental health in general. The sudden changing of the weather didn't help either - my body responds very poorly to sudden environmental and seasonal changes. I think they call it seasonal depression? I'm not totally sure. Anyhow - I didn't make as much progress on my work this month as I wish I did because there were a handful of days I was just trying to hang in there and make it to tomorrow. I considered skipping the newsletter as a result of this, but I don't think that's fair to you guys, and I also did make progress on a couple things people probably want to know about, so enjoy this mini-newsletter in the meantime.

Response to Mr. Krabs vs Tom Nook has been incredible!!! We reached an all-time high of concurrent patrons this month following the early release and I am so grateful you all liked it so much. As I stated in my public community post about the project earlier this month, it will be receiving a public audio release in December since the video is delayed. I'm very interested to see how an "audio only" AvA will perform and if it will impact the full video's performance or not. Don't worry, though - there will be another full early audio exclusive to Patrons up on here before Krabs vs Nook goes public. Speaking of...

Gumball vs Baldi was SUPPOSED to come out this month, but there have been some complications with the animation process. So it's being pushed to December (and Pomni vs Jevil will be the first battle of 2026). However the animation is progressing very well in regards to what is completed, and the audio is actually fully done too! I am going to put up my public "teaser poster" on my socials either today or tomorrow to begin the rollout of Gumball vs Baldi, and I'll probably post the early audio a week or two from now so there's enough time to publicly announce it, and we'll be closer to the final release. The compositing isn't finished yet, but here's a look at the animation:

One more little thing - this is the first battle I'm storyboarding entirely by myself. It'll probably be the first of many, so it might not be the most polished, but it's exciting to start learning and I hope it results in a more cohesive experience. The goal visually for this project is to be very style-accurate, and so far I am happy with what we've managed to do so far. Please bare with us a little bit longer!

I wanted to quickly mention my new second channel "Effarby" that I launched this month too. It's going to be where I post all official content that isn't just the full battles. For example, the early audio for Mr. Krabs vs Tom Nook will be on here. I've also shadow-dropped a couple low-quality snippets for upcoming projects, including Krabs vs Nook before it was released, and (an earlier version of) Gumball vs Baldi. Give it a sub if you haven't yet, and keep your eyes peeled!

As for the rest of the stuff I've announced in the past few newsletters, it's really a game of inches. They've all been worked on, some more than others, but I'm going to keep the details to myself for the time being. I've got some exciting collaborations bubbling! I apologize for the short newsletter this month, and I'll be working hard to make sure the next one is a lot more exciting going into the new year.

Happy holidays, and see you soon!

-Eddie
