First and foremost I want to thank everyone who showed their interest in the game. Your continued support in any form is very much appreciated. Seeing that thousands of people played the Demo on Steam alone really warmed my heart. Thank you again to all of you and let's look at what's new in this update.
Ardor for Depravity - v0.20
This post is a Dev Log in which I go over the new additions to the game as well some of the other improvements that have been made. If you are only interested in the game, you can access the download on Itch.io or through these posts on SubscribeStar or Patreon.
Update 0.20 brings an exciting continuation of the Main Story line for Emily in the Sisterhood and several new events in each of the Corruption Quest chains. This update adds about three hours of game-play, many lewd scenes and plenty of new content. The update also contains one major new mechanic and some smaller ones, many improvements, bug fixes and much more.
Continuation of the Main Story
Emily's quest to find her sister continues, but nothing is as easy as it seems. Now that she has joined the Sisterhood, she needs to get used to living in the Monastery and learn the ways of the Order. Sometimes that means doing things that Emily is not very comfortable doing yet.
The Main Quest line in this update consists of Emily gaining trust of the Sisterhood, raising her reputation by performing task within the Order. From learning about various rituals and prayers, adventures in the night to working for the Sisterhood and fulfilling her obligations as a Sister. Now that Emily's corruption has progressed somewhat a majority of these events are about sex and sexual stuff.
You can expect more than 20 new quests/events in this update that revolve around the Sisterhood. These events focus on Emily exploring her bisexual side, exhibitionism, pleasuring men with her mouth and body and some mild BDSM and orgasm denial. These events will further Emily's corruption as well with a clear progression towards more and more depraved sexual acts.
The Sanity Mechanic
From this update on, players will need to be mindful about Emily's state of mind and not to overwhelm her with lewd experiences that she cannot handle. The Emily's continued exposure to sexual acts will have a negative effect on her psyche, and without proper management with some relaxing activities will have disastrous consequences for her. This is a lightweight system that introduces some push-back in order to add some slight friction between the players and the game.
Permanent Talent Like Upgrades
This constant drain on Emily's sanity by the lewd events will be somewhat mitigated by introduction of permanent talent-like upgrades. Players will be able to invest Emily's accumulated corruption into these very powerful upgrades (do not underestimate or ignore them). As Emily progresses and gains more and more corruption it will be easier for her to endure the stress that these lewd events have on her. In this update you will be able to gain only some of these upgrades but eventually you will have everything, so don't stress too much about putting the points into a wrong thing.
New Events in the Corruption Quest Lines
In this update Emily's corruption will progress through the Main Quest line into new depths of depravity and with that several new events in the Corruption Quest lines will become available. In the Tavern Emily will lose more and more of her working attire until she is working completely nude. In the Market similar fate awaits for her as the marketing tactics she needs to deploy will mean for her to wear less and less clothes. In the Homeless Shelter Emily will again be helping those in need but this time they are more persistent and demanding for her to undress during the food distribution. Overall about 15 new events have been added to the Corruption Quest lines for you to enjoy.
Next Goals and Plans
This update marks yet another significant milestone for Emily on her journey, and there are many more lewd events already planned for her. She will sink more and more into pleasure and lust as her corruption progresses further. The next update will bring more sexual acts for Emily to perform as her search for her sister continues.
