Everything is sex, except sex, which is tennis.
Yeah (yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah)
For the last few years I've tried to get something done for Halloween involving characters, just to have a bit of fun with outfits and costumes. Least this year I managed to be a bit early!
Thought it'd be neat to reuse the '27 designs from OM1, seeing as how those'll only appear once or twice more in TME's next update.
(It feels criminal to be producing post-TME content when I haven't finished it yet, trust me, I know.)
Prior to the Challengers idea, I was really tempted to have them as Sinclair, Vera, & Dean Domino from FNV's Dead Money, but that felt too obscure. ^^
As for previous years…
2023 saw a thrown together Harlowe & Janusz* as Aggretsuko's Haida and Lackadaisy's Viktor Vasko.
I say "thrown together" because I was working on it as I was getting ready to head out to a party, so it's lacking a considerable amount of polish. It ended up being one of those things that just sits on your hard drive forever collecting dust.
*Janusz is a character that ended up getting reworked considerably.
Originally he was designed back in October of 2023 to fill a role that ended up being split between a handful of characters. His design may seem familiar though–it's ultimately what would be reworked and later used for Wren.
There was a brief moment where reusing his design (alongside Wren) was considered, resulting in:
That was then used for an early portrait:
Which still exists in the files of S&M, alongside other scrapped characters and older designs.
But given Wren's reappearance in S&M, having two incredibly similar looking characters presented some issues. As such, he was tossed out once again.
This wasn't as much of a loss as it might sound. His design evolved into Wren only a few months after his creation, and you can see the transition still actively occurring in some of the older concept art for TME. He was ultimately an incredibly short-lived character.
I think I've previously shown a cropped portion of this piece, but the whole one includes the earlier iteration of what eventually became the sanunusi, which originally possessed a modified version of Wren's design, with changes made to make it appear more skull-like.
POINT IS, Janusz can be thought of as the earliest version of Wren.
As for Halloween 2022…
We've got Umsi (left) and Lamontz (right) in Fallout themed costumes. One based on Hancock from FO4 and the other a very lazy set of power armor.
All that's to say, happy (early) Halloween!
