We're SO back with the Forgers in Season 3!!
Episode 1 was right back into the fun, silly, chaotic start I needed for this season. It felt like being welcomed right back into the Forger's home and reminded me how much I love their dynamic. And the intro/outro for this season are BEAUTIFUL! The music, the animation, the vibe.. The Spy x Family logo where it looks joined together and holding up the 'x'... It feels super symbolic.AND THEN EPISODES 2 AND 3 DECIDED TO WRECK MEFor the first time in this anime, my heart shattered. Everything I knew about Loid completely shifted.Seeing Loid's childhood and finally understanding his deep desire to 'create a world where children don't have to cry.'.. Watching him as this innocent kid playing war with his friends, believing the propoganda he's being fed and seeing world as simply us vs. them. Only to have the REAL war destory everything. Take away everything. Change everything overnight."Ignorance is weakness. Ignorance is a sin." will forever be burned into my mind now.It feels like the entire point. Even IRL.. Loid learned firsthand how dangerous it is to blindly believe what you're told. To never question anything. To allow fear to turn into hate.It's impossible not to see the deeper connection to our world today.But the realization that REALLY got me is the beautiful irony of the Forger family itself now that we've seen Loid's past. Loid dedicated his entire life to creating a world where children are safe and don't have the same fate he did as a kid. Now he believes that pretending to have a family and raising Anya is simply another mission that will help him accomplish that goal without realizing that Anya is already exactly the child he's been fighting for his entire life.She's an orphan. She's been abandoned.
