Hello Patrons!
It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for, the moment we’ve been working toward for months. AltStore PAL 2.3 is officially live for everyone, with all of our social features fine-tuned after several iterations of betas! And while we are so excited for all of our AltStore PAL users to play around with these features, we have something even more delightful to share 🎉
To celebrate the launch of AltStore PAL 2.3, we’re also launching three fediverse-related apps, now available for download! You can find them as 🌐 Fediverse Favorites in the first of our new “Source Collections” (curated lists of some of our favorite or most popular apps on AltStore PAL). We wanted to make sure that users not only have access to social web features through AltStore’s explore page (explore.alt.store), but also have the chance to try some apps built on fediverse itself — after all, it's more fun with friends!
Our first new app is iPhanpy 🐘 a mobile client for Mastodon by Matt Fantinel. Utilize every aspect of Mastodon, from posting and browsing to connecting with users across federated servers. With a sleek, intuitive interface, iPhanpy makes navigating Mastodon on iOS and engaging with the fediverse easier than ever!
Next up is PeerTube 🐙▶️ an open-source video hosting platform by Framasoft. Explore a wide variety of videos by independent creators — no ads, no tracking, no spam. And best of all, you can also download videos to watch offline completely free!
Finally, Loops ➰ is a short-form video app by none other than Dansup of Pixelfed! Scroll through a continuous stream of quick, engaging videos, making it easy to discover new content and creators in bite-sized pieces. Perfect for browsing through fun and interesting clips throughout the day (and free of government censorship!)
Of course, there are many updates to AltStore PAL itself for everyone to explore once they’ve checked out these exciting new apps. Thanks to all your feedback on our recent betas, the latest features you’ve been seeing are more polished than ever! This release is a significant step forward for AltStore, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you, so a huge THANK YOU for being our Patrons and supporting our progress 💚
